TikToker Ordered to Pay $1.75 Million Over Alleged Affair

TikToker Brenay Kennard’s alleged affair is costing her a pretty penny.

A jury has ruled that the 26-year-old woman must pay $1.75 million to Akira Montague, the ex-wife of her manager and current partner, Tim Montague, due to their alleged relationship.

According to NBC News, on November 10th, a court found Brenay responsible for having an inappropriate relationship with Tim and damaging the emotional connection within his marriage.

She will pay $250,000 due to the affair and an additional $1.5 million because of the emotional distress it caused.

In May 2024, a TikTok creator with over two million followers was sued by Akira. The lawsuit, filed in North Carolina, claims ‘alienation of affection’ – meaning Akira believes this person caused their spouse to end the marriage.

NBC News reports that Akira claims Brenay exploited their friendship to get closer to Tim, whom Brenay married in 2018.

According to court documents, Akira claims she discovered the affair in January 2024. She accuses Brenay of intentionally flirting with Tim, describing behavior like showing off her tongue rings. Akira also alleges that Brenay and Tim exchanged numerous sexually explicit videos and text messages.

As someone following this case closely, it’s heartbreaking to hear Akira describe how Tim started distancing himself from her while he was involved with Brenay. According to the legal documents, she feels he deliberately damaged her relationship with her husband, which is just devastating. It’s clear she believes his actions were completely unfair and unjustified, and it’s really sad to see how this has impacted her and their two children.

Following the ruling, Akira’s attorney weighed in on what it means to her.

Robonetta Jones told WRAL on November 10th that she feels a sense of justice now that the man who was both her husband and the father of her children has been held accountable.

Meanwhile, Brenay and Tim have each spoken out about the jury’s decision.

Tim stated to NBC News that his wife was at a significant disadvantage, particularly when facing a whole team of lawyers while defending herself.

As for Brenay, she echoed his sentiments.

Brenay stated in a statement to NBC News that the trial’s outcome was unjust. She believes she spent eight days battling false claims, and that the jury was swayed by emotion rather than evidence. She maintains that the legal battle isn’t finished and will only conclude when a higher power deems it so.

As for the payout, Brenay didn’t hold back in sharing her thoughts…

“I don’t know,” she told WRAL after court. “But she’ll probably never see it.”
