The strategy game TINY METAL 2, published by AREA 34 and developed by AREA 35, has been pushed back to 2027. Originally planned for release in 2026, the game will now launch next year. Players can sign up now on Steam to participate in a closed playtest running from April 2nd at 3 PM Pacific Time to April 29th at 2 AM Pacific Time.
You’ll be able to play with up to eight people locally during the playtest. We’re planning to add online multiplayer when the full game comes out.
Here are the details:
This April’s playtest lets you experience both solo play and local co-op action. You’ll fight on ever-changing battlefields where your choices truly matter. Experiment with brand new factions alongside familiar ones, and build diverse armies. Plus, discover exciting new combat features like Focus Fire, which allows multiple units to unleash a powerful, combined attack.
Join the Playtest and team up with up to three friends for epic battles! Fight on land, in the air, and now, at sea, on specially designed maps. Command powerful fleets of battleships, destroyers, submarines, and other vessels to dominate in intense naval combat. With countless possible combinations, you can build a unique military force – how will you conquer?
Attendees at PAX East 2026 will get their first chance to play TIN METAL 2 in North America. The event takes place March 25-29 at the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
The game TINY METAL 2 will launch on PC through Steam, and will be coming to other platforms at a later date. You can find more details about the game here.
