Tom Sandoval will welcome any and all constructive criticism from Simon Cowell.
Sandoval, 42, candidly confided in Us Weekly following the airing of his America’s Got Talent audition, stating that Simon had suggested room for improvement with his vocals. However, he added, such feedback is welcome since Simon often recognizes talent on par with Celine Dion and appreciates constructive criticism from him.
On Tuesday, June 24th, I found myself tuning in to witness the former star of Vanderpump Rules, along with his group Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras, strut their stuff during an audition for a competitive TV show on NBC.
65-year-old Cowell, alongside fellow judges Howie Mandel, Mel B, and Sofia Vergara, collectively decided to advance Sandoval’s band to the subsequent phase of the competition following their rendition of A-ha’s “Take On Me.
In his feedback, Simon Cowell acknowledged that the vocals weren’t fantastic, Tom. To be straightforward with you, he admitted. But remember, not everyone joins this show for a recording contract. It can also be about staying true to yourself. With that said, he plans on giving a ‘yes’.
Prior to stepping onto the stage to perform, Sandoval confessed that he was a bit unsure about how the judges might react to his routine.

He confided in Us that it was truly nerve-racking for him to step onto that stage. After all, it’s not every day one performs before Simon Cowell – the man known for his blunt criticism that can leave contestants in tatters.
Lucky for Sandoval, the response from judges and viewers alike has been overwhelmingly positive.
For Sandoval, the show has proven to be a personally fulfilling journey. However, as a former contestant of Traitors, he’s incredibly thankful that the band members have been provided with such a vast stage to display their skills.
In a particular phase of my existence, this community was the sole force propelling me forward, the unique advantage I possessed, and it played an instrumental role in my salvation on numerous occasions,” he confided to Us magazine. “It provided tremendous assistance and support, and I truly believe it rescued me.
Despite Sandoval remaining tight-lipped about their upcoming show, he’s optimistic that Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras will embark on a substantial tour during autumn.
If questioned about his plans should his band secure victory on America’s Got Talent along with the $1 million reward, Sandoval, who harbors ambitions of performing alongside Muse’s lead vocalist Matt Bellamy, admitted that such a prospect hasn’t crossed his mind yet.
He remarked, “Observe, there are numerous gifted individuals vying for a spot, and I believe it’s all about progressing step by step.” He continued, “I’m simply overjoyed to be included in any capacity. I feel privileged to be surrounded by such outstanding, impressive talent. To me, just being here is the greatest victory of all.
America’s Got Talent airs on NBC Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. Stream old episodes anytime via Peacock.
