Tubi is making family movie nights better by adding a fantastic animated film from the 2000s. That decade was a golden age for animated movies, with Pixar leading the way and DreamWorks becoming a strong competitor. This led to classics like Shrek, The Incredibles, and Lilo & Stitch. Luckily, many of these beloved films are now available to stream, and Tubi is offering one of them for free.
You can now watch the animated movie Horton Hears a Who!, based on the classic Dr. Seuss book, on Tubi. The film, which arrived on the streaming service on February 1st, features Jim Carrey as the voice of Horton, a kind elephant who discovers a tiny town called Whoville. He then works to protect the Whos from the other animals in the jungle who don’t believe they exist. The movie, which earned $298 million around the world, is Carrey’s second adaptation of a Dr. Seuss story, following How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It also stars Carol Burnett, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen, Dan Fogler, Isla Fisher, Jonah Hill, and Amy Poehler.
Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who! Is a Whimsically Heartwarming Adaptation
Despite initial doubts after the mixed reception of The Cat in the Hat movie, Horton Hears a Who! proved to be a fantastic adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic. It’s still considered one of the best animated films of its time, earning a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes with scores of 79% from critics and 73% from audiences.
What makes the movie Horton Hears a Who! so successful is how faithfully it adapts the original book, truly capturing the spirit of Dr. Seuss. Unlike some other adaptations, it expanded the story thoughtfully without adding unnecessary elements, and stayed true to the book’s core message: that everyone deserves respect, no matter how small. This results in a delightful, funny, and touching animated film that remains enjoyable even today. The vibrant colors and unique shapes of Dr. Seuss’s illustrations were beautifully brought to life with CGI, making the world of Whoville feel real. Plus, the voice actors delivered both humor and genuine emotion, creating characters that are both funny and relatable.
Other Family-Friendly Movies Now On Tubi
Tubi offers a great selection of free movies the whole family can enjoy. They recently added even more titles in February, including The Angry Birds Movie 2, Open Season, Open Season 2, Akeelah and the Bee, Meet Dave, Rio, Secondhand Lions, and all three original Spy Kids movies.
