Robert Patrick, star of Tulsa King, recently discussed the surprising cliffhanger involving his character, Jeremiah. The well-known actor, famous for his work in The X-Files and the Terminator movies, joined the popular crime drama created by Taylor Sheridan. Patrick plays Jeremiah Dunmire, the head of the Dixie Mafia, and a powerful enemy to Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi.
Okay, let me tell you, things really escalated in the latest episode of Tulsa King. Jeremiah went after Dwight, creating some serious tension, but Dwight, being the cool operator he is, didn’t take the bait. He skillfully maneuvered things, bringing Sackrider over to his side, which was a total game-changer. Honestly, it was like watching Jeremiah willingly walk into a trap – by the end of the hour, he’d effectively sealed his own fate and found himself behind bars. A satisfying conclusion, to say the least!
I was really fascinated by Patrick’s recent interview with ScreenRant about the Love Ride and, of course, what’s happening with Jeremiah. He talked about how Dunmire’s power in Oklahoma is starting to slip, and how Dwight is really throwing a wrench in things, making Dunmire lose control over his son and everyone around him. He even shared some thoughts on filming that incredibly intense scene with Guinee in episode 7 – it sounds like it was a tough one!
Everyone’s starting to turn against my character, Dunmire. For a while, he had everything under control in Oklahoma, but it’s all falling apart now. He’s losing his grip on his son, and he definitely lost control of the Attorney General, Sackrider – Tim Guinee plays him, and we had a blast filming our more…physical scenes! We were laughing so much during the scene where I went after him, it’s funny what fans don’t see. Tim and I go way back to ‘Ladder 49’, so it was genuinely fun to act opposite someone I care about. But I really hope the audience is picking up on the fact that Dunmire’s composure is cracking. His carefully constructed facade is starting to crumble, and he’s being pushed to the edge, forced to fight back and take matters into his own hands. I think he’s internally falling apart, and terrified of it, because losing your son, losing your family…that’s the worst. He pushed his son hard, maybe too hard, but that’s just how he was raised, it’s a legacy thing. He’s a tough, stern, and deeply convinced man. And now this outsider, this guy Manfredi from New York, is coming in and destroying everything he’s built, taking his territory. It’s infuriating! Manfredi’s become a really formidable opponent, even more than Dunmire initially expected. It’s a fantastic chess match unfolding right now, and Manfredi is definitely starting to gain the upper hand.
Patrick is talking about the conflict that lands Jeremiah in trouble. Dwight intentionally provokes Jeremiah by reminding him how he managed to turn Sackrider against him. He does this by showing Jeremiah a copy of The Art of War – the title of this episode. This pushes Jeremiah to confront Sackrider, and he reacts violently, ultimately leading to his arrest.

Given Jeremiah’s continued influence and Patrick’s role as a main cast member in the current season of Tulsa King, it’s probable the character will reappear. The episode, penned by Daniel C. Connolly and directed by Guy Ferland, highlights the contrast between Dwight and Jeremiah. Sylvester Stallone’s character showed how to succeed in this situation by allowing potential allies to turn on each other.
Despite this win, the story isn’t over. Season 4 of Tulsa King is happening, and a new show starring Samuel L. Jackson is also in the works. Even though Dwight may be celebrating now and Jeremiah wants to recover from this setback, it won’t be long before Stallone’s character faces another major challenge.
