Season six of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ is adding some familiar faces – David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker, both known for their roles in ‘Doctor Who’, will be joining the cast.
The sixth season of the show is currently being filmed and will take Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) to London to solve a brand new mystery, leaving New York City behind.
David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker will appear in multiple episodes as guest stars, along with Nicola Coughlan, Jim Broadbent, Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis, and Kathryn Hunter.
Exact character details are being kept under wraps.
Joining the cast are Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard, Sharon Horgan, Martin Freeman, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Jamie Demetriou, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Derek Jacobi, and Lesley Nicol.
I’m a huge David Tennant fan, and for good reason! He’s absolutely brilliant as both the Tenth and Fourteenth Doctors on Doctor Who – those are the versions I grew up with and everyone always remembers him for those roles.
I’m really enjoying watching him right now as Tony Baddingham in the Disney+ series, Rivals! He’s been in a few great things lately too – I also caught him in ITV’s drama, The Hack, which was gripping, and he was fantastic in the Netflix adaptation of Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club. He’s quickly becoming one of my favorite actors!
Jodie Whittaker made history as the first woman to play the Doctor in Doctor Who, succeeding Peter Capaldi in 2018.
More recent credits include Netflix’s Office Romance, ITV’s Frauds and Netflix’s Toxic Town.
We don’t yet know the exact plot for season 6 of Only Murders in the Building, but it’s likely the story will focus on the group’s travels to London and the mystery surrounding the death of fellow podcaster Cinda Canning (Tina Fey) at the end of last season.
