PlayStation recently added two games to the PlayStation Store as a surprise free offering. One became available on December 18th, and the other on December 19th. While both were released unexpectedly and are available at no cost, they are otherwise distinct games from different developers.
Two free games are currently available: Lokko, a fast-paced 3D platformer by Appy Monkeys Software, and Cup Heroes, an action-adventure strategy game from Qubic Games. Both have received positive reviews on the PlayStation Store, with Lokko scoring 4.21 out of 5 stars and Cup Heroes earning a 4.27. These are strong ratings, especially considering they’re free games, which often receive lower scores due to being easily accessible to everyone.
Lokko
Join Lokko and his brother as they battle the wicked Goobol Corporation and bring delicious pizzas to everyone around the globe! Lokko is a fun and creative 3D platforming game. You can build and share tricky levels with players on PlayStation 5, PC, and iOS – all in real-time. Plus, you get to create your own character and design your own enemies and bosses!
Appy Monkeys Software, the team behind the 2021 game Blox 3D World, has released Lokko. Currently, Lokko is in Beta, and it’s not yet known if it will stay free once the full version launches. For now, though, it’s available to download and keep at no cost. It’s also a PlayStation 5 exclusive, meaning you can only play it on the PS5 console.
Cup Heroes
Cup Heroes is a charming game where ordinary cups become powerful heroes on a quest to rescue their queen!
Qubic Games is an established developer, unlike the newer Appy Monkeys Software. The game does include optional in-app purchases, but players generally agree they aren’t necessary or overly intrusive.
