Two Major Upcoming PC Games Confirmed as Steam Deck Verified

Two highly anticipated PC games have now been confirmed to work perfectly on the Steam Deck. Being “Verified” by Steam means Valve has thoroughly tested the game on the handheld device and confirms it runs smoothly from beginning to end, without needing any adjustments from the player.

It’s unusual for PC games to be immediately confirmed as working well on the Steam Deck. In fact, even major game releases often launch without official Steam Deck Verification. This makes the recent launches particularly interesting for Steam Deck owners, as they highlight the ongoing process of compatibility testing.

Slay the Spire 2

The sequel to Slay the Spire will be available on PC through Steam Early Access starting March 5th. MegaCrit, the game’s developer, is aiming for the game to be Steam Deck Verified at launch. Even if it doesn’t receive that badge, they confirm the game is fully playable and performs well on the Steam Deck, as they’ve been testing it themselves.

This game is a sequel to the popular indie hit Slay the Spire from 2019, which sold millions of copies. Slay the Spire received very positive reviews, earning an 89 on Metacritic and a 97% approval rating on Steam from over 73,000 user reviews – the highest possible rating on the platform. It’s a roguelike deck-building game, meaning each playthrough is unique and challenging.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

The PC version of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection comes to Steam on March 12th, and it’s already confirmed to work well with the Steam Deck.

This game is a role-playing game (RPG) and part of the popular Monster Hunter universe. It continues the story from Monster Hunter Stories (2016) and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (2021). The previous games received good reviews – the first scored 79 on Metacritic, and the second 82 – so we can expect this new installment to also score well, likely between the high 70s and low 80s.
