Tyrese Haliburton’s Fiancée Jade Addresses Death at Bachelorette Party

Jade Jones will always have a special place in her heart for her friend Makenzi Kern.

Just under two weeks after 26-year-old Kern unexpectedly passed away during a trip to St. Barts with Zach Jones, Tyrese Haliburton’s fiancée shared a touching remembrance of her friend, saying Kern had a life-changing impact on her.

Jones shared on Instagram on June 17th that Kenzi was the funniest and most playful person they’d ever known. They remembered Kenzi always making them laugh and brightening up any space she entered.

The 28-year-old shared that her best memories with Kern were everyday moments, like spending summers together, watching The Office, singing Hannah Montana songs, and enjoying time by the water.

Jones said he was struck by how Kern, who passed away on June 8th, genuinely appreciated life’s simple pleasures.

The Iowa State University graduate also appreciated how much Kern supported her relationship with Haliburton, saying Kern “loved and supported Tyrese and me through everything. She was always our biggest fan and was there for all of my important life events.”

Honestly, I can’t even picture the wedding without her there, cheering us on! It just wouldn’t feel right, it wouldn’t be the same at all. But I know she’ll find a way to be there in spirit, she always does. She’s been a part of everything since I first met Tyrese, every single important moment, and I just feel her presence always.

You know, even though Kern was gone, I truly believed a part of her would always stay with me. It wasn’t just about remembering her, but how she lived on in everything I did – in the joy I found, the stories I told, and even in the person I’d become because of our connection. She shaped me, and that was a legacy I knew would last forever.

Okay, seriously, her tribute just destroyed me! She finished it by basically telling Kern how much she loves her – like, FOREVER. She said Kenzi is beautiful, truly beautiful, and a friend you only get once in a lifetime. And then all the things… thanking her for always being there, making her laugh so hard she cried, just being unforgettable. It’s heartbreaking! She’s going to miss her SO much, but knows Kern will always be with her, which is…beautiful, honestly. She ended it with ‘See ya,’ and I’m already sobbing. Ugh, friendship goals, but also, devastating.

Haliburton, who proposed to Jones in July at their college, publicly showed his love for her by commenting, “I love you.”

When Kern passed away, she was on her bachelorette trip in the Caribbean, celebrating with friends – photos from the trip were posted on Instagram.

Sarah Kern unexpectedly passed away from health issues shortly after celebrating her 26th birthday, according to her family’s announcement. She is remembered by her mother, father, sister, boyfriend, step-siblings, and grandparents.
