Uncharted 5’s Lead Character Leaves Gamers Torn

As a huge gaming fan, I think the Uncharted series is seriously one of the most memorable out there. What’s really cool about it is that, unlike a lot of other really popular franchises, it didn’t actually start way back in the 80s or 90s – it’s still relatively new, but it’s made a massive impact!

Nathan Drake’s exciting adventures have cemented his place among iconic characters like Indiana Jones, whom he was heavily inspired by.

Drake’s story feels complete – he’s retired and is now living a peaceful life with Elena. Continuing the series would probably require a new protagonist, and that character could be someone we already know or a completely fresh face. It’s all up for consideration.

Who Would Star In Uncharted 5?

A Reddit user recently started a discussion about who should play the lead role in the next Uncharted game. While many fans mentioned Drake’s daughter, Cassie—who had a quick appearance at the end of the last game—other player suggestions also sounded promising.

A commenter suggested a prequel focusing on Nathan Drake’s mentor, Victor Sullivan, especially highlighting his adventures from the game Uncharted: Golden Abyss, which detailed his youthful exploits like climbing pyramids. They noted the 1970s setting of those adventures would be appealing. As an alternative, they’d be happy with a re-release or remake of Golden Abyss itself.

One person suggested a game starring Sam, potentially set in the present day with flashbacks to explore his past. Another player expressed enthusiasm for a new game featuring Chloe as the main character.

“Cassie as the protagonist and Sam as the Sully-type mentor role,” a third said.

One person expressed a desire to see many of the original characters return, even if the spin-off continued with Chloe as the lead. They specifically mentioned wanting to see Sam, Sully, Cutter, and Nadine again, feeling that introducing Cassie would represent a fresh start for the series.

Uncharted 5 Has Yet To Be Officially Confirmed

Putting aside all the exciting predictions, Naughty Dog hasn’t even officially announced that Uncharted 5 is in development. This means we probably won’t see it for many years, if it ever happens. It would be a shame if the series ended, as Uncharted is one of the most beloved and consistently great adventure game franchises of all time.
