Although Reacher remains incredibly popular in the action thriller genre, a new show featuring a similar wandering hero has become a big hit on streaming platforms with its recent season. While fans await the return of that powerful hero later this year, many are currently enjoying another skilled crime-solver who exposes hidden truths.
CBS is hoping to replicate the success of Prime Video’s Reacher with its new action series, Tracker. The show stars a familiar face, known from This is Us and Smallville, as Colter Shaw, a skilled and independent warrior similar to Jack Reacher. Based on Jeffery Deaver’s 2019 novel The Never Game, Tracker was immediately compared to Lee Child’s popular Reacher novels, and early signs suggest it has the potential to be just as compelling, even if it doesn’t quite have the same level of recognition yet.
‘Tracker’ Has Been in the Top 10 for More Than 100 Days
Justin Hartley stars as Colter Shaw in Tracker, a series about a skilled survivalist who finds missing people for rewards. Haunted by his past, Colter relies on his instincts to solve cases. He’s assisted by lawyer Reenie Green, business manager Velma Bruin, and tech expert Bobby Exley, and he’s determined to see every job through – a lot like a familiar former military police officer who now lives as a drifter.
The action series Tracker, starring Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise, Fiona Rene, Prestyn Bates, Peter Stormare, Melissa Roxburgh, Jennifer Morrison, and Jensen Ackles, is currently in its third season and taking a much darker turn. Colter Shaw is now working to dismantle a dangerous blackmail operation called “The Process” while also confronting long-hidden family issues. Since its debut in October, Tracker has remained a top 10 hit on Paramount+ for over 100 days, proving to be another popular action series – one that’s almost as successful as Reacher.
‘Tracker’ Is an Action Thriller Network TV Treat

Though not as critically acclaimed as Reacher, Tracker has received very positive reviews. The first season currently has an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and early reactions to Season 3 have been enthusiastic, calling the premiere “strong” and predicting a “real treat” for viewers. Many are already calling it one of the best shows on television. Given this success, it’s no surprise that Tracker has been renewed for a fourth season.
Jack Reacher will return for a fourth season, based on Lee Child’s thirteenth book, “Gone Tomorrow.” The new season will follow Reacher as he uncovers a conspiracy while in New York City. Plus, the world of Reacher is growing! Maria Sten will reprise her role as Frances Neagley in a separate series of adventures, also on Prime Video.
