Next month, Peacock will start streaming the sci-fi thriller Riddick, starring Vin Diesel. The movie has gained a large following since it was released. Along with other popular titles coming in the new year, this 2013 film – the third in the Riddick series and directed by David Twohy – will be available on the streaming platform.
Vin Diesel-led Riddick to stream on Peacock next month
Good news for Riddick fans! Every movie in the series is coming to Peacock.
Starting January 1, 2026, all three movies in the Pitch Black series – Pitch Black (2000), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), and Riddick (2013) – will be available to stream, according to ComicBook.com. The films, created by brothers Ken and Jim Wheat, follow the adventures of Richard B. Riddick, a talented criminal portrayed by Vin Diesel, and blend sci-fi with horror.
Riddick, the third film in the series, was released in the US on September 6, 2013. The story follows Riddick after he’s left stranded on an alien planet when the Necromongers turn against him. To survive the planet’s harsh environment and dangerous creatures, he must team up with a group of mercenaries.
Besides Vin Diesel, Riddick stars Matt Nable, Jordi Mollà, Katee Sackhoff, Dave Bautista, Karl Urban, and Bokeem Woodbine in important roles. The movie cost $38 million to make, according to Box Office Mojo, and performed reasonably well at the box office. It earned over $42 million in the United States and Canada, and a total of over $98.3 million worldwide.
I’m really glad to see that Riddick got a 58% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on over 172 reviews! People seemed to enjoy it, with a 56% score on the audience side too. It’s awesome that this movie did better than The Chronicles of Riddick, both with critics and at the box office. It shows the franchise is still going strong!
A fourth Riddick film, called Furya, is currently being made, but there’s no confirmed release date yet.
