Exciting news about season 2 of Untamed has been released – it will feature a new setting! The first season, a mystery thriller that premiered on Netflix in July 2025, starred Eric Bana as a park agent investigating a woman’s death in Yosemite National Park.
Netflix’s Untamed is heading to Hawaii for its next season, both in terms of setting and where filming will take place. The series is leaving its previous location in Yosemite, as reported by Deadline.
Season 2 of Untamed features a new case led by Turner, this time at Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, after a mysterious death. Both the local community and the unpredictable volcanic landscape will complicate the six-part investigation.
The cast and crew will begin filming the second season in spring 2026.
Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith, the creators of Untamed, shared that they’re excited to showcase a new national park with beautiful scenery and a unique culture in the upcoming season. They also explained that the character of Turner will be dealing with the aftermath of the first season and will be in a different headspace as a result, in addition to being in a new location.
