WandaVision ‘Trilogy’ Confirmed By MCU Star

A leading actor from Marvel Studios’ WandaVision has revealed plans for the series to continue as a three-part story. WandaVision quickly became a major success for Marvel, premiering in January 2021 and earning the studio its first Emmy Awards. The show also launched a significant storyline for Scarlet Witch and Vision, which is expected to wrap up soon, marking the beginning of the franchise’s Phase 4 and the Multiverse Saga.

Paul Bettany, known for his role as Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shared that his next series, Vision Quest, will conclude a three-part story that began with WandaVision. Bettany has become a consistent presence in the MCU, and he’s currently the actor with the longest continuous involvement, starting back in 2008 with Iron Man as the voice of JARVIS. After successfully reviving the character in WandaVision, he’s now giving fans a better understanding of the scope of this ongoing story.

During a discussion with Screen Rant’s Joe Deckelmeier at Los Angeles Comic-Con (as reported by @DisneyScoopGuy on X), Bettany was questioned about whether Vision Quest directly followed the events of WandaVision. He stated it wasn’t a direct sequel, but he confirmed that it is “absolutely…part of the trilogy,” establishing its connection to both WandaVision and Agatha All Along.

“No, but I would say it’s absolutely, rightly part of the trilogy.”

Paul Bettany will reprise his role as Vision in Vision Quest, marking his first live-action appearance since the acclaimed 2021 series WandaVision. The show will follow White Vision, played alongside co-stars including James Spader, Kerry Condon, and Todd Stashwick, as he journeys across the globe trying to recover his lost memories and sense of self. Vision Quest is currently slated for release on Disney+ in 2026.

How Will WandaVision Trilogy Be Completed?

As a huge fan of Marvel, I always felt that while WandaVision was fundamentally about Wanda Maximoff processing her grief and moving her character arc forward, the show cleverly planted seeds for future storylines in its last few episodes. We definitely saw some of that play out in theaters with Wanda becoming a villain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but the story didn’t stop there! Disney+ continued to explore what happened with other characters we met in WandaVision, expanding on that initial setup.

I have to say, I was thrilled to see Kathryn Hahn reprise her role as Agatha Harkness! Following the success of WandaVision, she really deserved her own show, Agatha All Along, which premiered in 2024. The series ended on a seriously exciting note, hinting at the possibility of seeing the Children’s Crusade storyline from Marvel Comics adapted for either TV or film. Now, all eyes are on what’s next for Paul Bettany’s Vision and his upcoming series – I’m really eager to see where they take his story!

Although Vision Quest is anticipated to have some sad scenes, it’s also expected to wrap up the story of Vision and Wanda that began in WandaVision. Ruaridh Mollica is rumored to be joining the cast to further develop the family relationships, specifically as Tommy Maximoff. However, there’s currently no indication of whether Joe Locke, who plays Billy Maximoff, or Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda, will be appearing in the series.

Currently, everything is prepared for this three-part story to gain attention again in 2026, bringing back one of the most memorable stories within the Multiverse Saga so far.
