Jey Uso has been yeeted from the ring.
WWE fans were shocked when the wrestler, also known as the Yeet Master, was attacked behind the scenes during the February 27th episode of Smackdown on USA Network.
A video on WWE’s TikTok showed Jey getting ambushed while preparing for the Elimination Chamber match. He was attacked with heavy items like a ladder, wooden planks, and metal crates. Though the attacker wasn’t seen, crew members discovered the 40-year-old wrestler unconscious and called for help.
As paramedics loaded Jey into the ambulance – where a noticeable bruise was visible near his eye – his cousin and fellow WWE star, Jacob Fatu, who was also previously attacked last October, jumped in with him. Before the ambulance left, Jacob turned to Nick Aldis, the general manager of SmackDown, and demanded, “You better find out who did this!”
Jey was ultimately replaced by Logan Paul for the match on February 28th, but he lost to Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Regarding Jacob’s request to identify the person who attacked him, WWE has not yet released that information.
This happened shortly after Jey Uso, one half of the World Tag Team Champions with his brother Jimmy, fought Bronson Reed to earn a spot in the Elimination Chamber match on February 23rd. Jey won when Reed suffered a torn bicep, which required surgery and forced Reed to withdraw from the competition.
Even though Jey wasn’t able to compete in the recent competition, he’s most proud of his biggest win: defeating John Cena at the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble in February.
He admitted to being a huge fan during the match, saying he’s still a big supporter of the wrestlers involved. Speaking with ESPN about last month’s win, he praised John Cena, noting that Cena has known his family since his father, Solofa Fatu Jr., wrestled for WWE. Being one of the final two competitors in the Royal Rumble felt incredibly nostalgic. ‘It just felt amazing,’ he said.

And now, the wrestler is in recovery mode.
In a hopeful Instagram post from February 28th, the 37-year-old announced the start of his recovery while in the hospital, writing, “Tomorrow is DAY ONE. The road back.”
