For over ten years, fans have eagerly awaited the new Disney film, *Tron: Ares*. Jared Leto, who stars in the movie, is a particularly devoted fan of the *Tron* universe. His passion for the world created by Steven Lisberger goes beyond just being involved in the film, scheduled for release on October 10, 2025. Both I and Jeff Bridges, a veteran of the original *Tron*, are fascinated by how well he knows the series trivia.
As a longtime movie fan, I’ve always known Jeff Bridges loves *Tron*, but his dedication keeps surprising me! It turns out he’s a huge diehard – he was famously advocating for a revival years ago, and I even heard he was first in line for the Lightcycle Run at Disney World. But the latest proof? A new teaser for *Tron: Ares* shows Bridges grilling Jared Leto on *Tron* trivia, and Leto absolutely nails every single question, from the film’s origins to incredibly specific details about the *Tron* universe. Seriously, you have to see it to believe how much this guy knows!

It’s amazing how much dedication Leto has to the *Tron* universe! The story is so complex that I often need to revisit the entire timeline to fully understand it. It’s clear Bridges recognizes Leto’s deep knowledge, and I share his impressed reaction. The video clip really worked – I’m already buying my tickets!
Like many fans, I was already excited about the *Tron: Ares* trailer, especially with the music by Nine Inch Nails. But learning about Jared Leto’s commitment to the role is really impressive. It also makes it easier to accept that we aren’t getting a direct sequel to *Tron: Legacy*. The cast seems genuinely enthusiastic about the direction of this third film, so I’m optimistic – and hoping it delivers!

Jared Leto says wearing the Tron: Ares costume was a significant experience, even though it weighed a hefty 45 pounds. He still seems enthusiastic about it.
Leto clearly has an incredible knowledge of the 1983 film. While the first question about Pong is fairly well-known, he effortlessly answered more difficult video game trivia. What’s even more impressive is that he also knows details about Disney rides connected to the movie.
It’s no surprise Leto has fully embraced the world of *Tron: Ares*, both the digital grid and the culture surrounding the original films, and I’m really excited to see his performance. I’m hoping there’s more content out there – perhaps an extended interview – where he talks more about his long-time love for the series and impresses Jeff Bridges with his knowledge. I’d also love to see other interviews where he discusses his fandom in more detail.
Get ready for the new *Tron: Ares* movie by revisiting the original *Tron* and *Tron: Legacy* on Disney+. *Tron: Ares* arrives in theaters and IMAX nationwide on October 10th.
