As a true cinephile, I must admit that when it comes to Netflix’s “Wednesday,” I have come to anticipate the intriguing twist of a protagonist coming back from beyond the grave.
Indeed, from the freshly released trailer, it appears that Gwendoline Christie’s character, Larissa Weems, is set to experience precisely this situation.
Weems passed away at the conclusion of season 1, and her character was absent during the initial half of season 2. Yet, it has been announced by Netflix that she will reappear in part 2, set to premiere on September 3rd.
During the “Doom Tour,” Gwendoline Christie unexpectedly appeared in character, stating, “You believed Nevermore would let me slip away that easily? I never left… you simply stopped watching.” A clip from this incident in Australia captures fans’ excited reactions as Christie confidently walks onto the stage.
There’s been buzz among fans about the possibility of Christie reappearing, as she was recently seen in Ireland, close to one of the filming spots for the upcoming episodes. Considering how beloved her character was during the first season, it comes as no shock that the show is welcoming her back again.

In the sneak peek for Season 2 (Part 2), it hints at wrapping up multiple plotlines as well as revealing a fresh position for Principal Weems.
As the sun rises on a Wednesday, we find ourselves in a hospital room where Weems appears dressed as a nurse. But it’s important to clarify that her return isn’t a result of magic; rather, let’s delve deeper into the circumstances soon.
In the latest episode on Wednesday, she’s been assigned a mystical mentor or guardian, a being of supernatural origin, which only the psychically gifted Wednesday is able to perceive, following the departure of Goody Addams from the previous season.
In this new role, Christie can expect a lot of thrilling and eerie activities, along with some exciting costume opportunities. This role is quite distinct from her previous position as the principal at Nevermore School, which she held during season 1.
In other parts of the preview, we catch glimpses of main characters like Wednesday’s classmates and parents, suggesting that the finale for season 2 could be quite chaotic.
Larissa Weems might take on a regular part in future episodes, as production for Season 3 begins towards the end of this year, with possibilities that Christie could make a comeback for one or two more instalments.
