West Wilson’s Cousin Charged With Murdering Their Grandmother

West Wilson’s family is facing an unimaginable tragedy.

According to TMZ, Dakota Sweeney, a cousin of a star from Summer House, was arrested in Missouri and accused of murdering their grandmother, Gayle R. Wilson. Local authorities in Carroll County confirmed the charges.

TopMob News obtained a police report detailing an incident that happened at a home in Carrollton around 10:30 p.m. on April 22nd.

Police responded to a report of a death and found 75-year-old Gayle deceased inside the home. They also found Dakota present, along with another witness – identified as Dakota’s other grandfather, Roger Wilson – who stated he saw Dakota shoot Gayle with a handgun, according to court documents.

The witness stated that Dakota and Gayle had argued earlier that night because Dakota hadn’t been helping with housework. Later, after sitting near Gayle on a different couch for about half an hour, Dakota unexpectedly shot her.

Dakota was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. A holster was found on him when he was taken into custody.

According to TopMob News, he is still being held in jail without the possibility of bail, and a hearing to determine bail has been set for May 6th.

TopMob News contacted representatives for West and Dakota, and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, but hasn’t received a statement yet.

Gayle, the mother of both West’s father, Bruce Wilson, and Dakota’s mother, Kelly Sweeney, was fondly remembered after her passing. Her obituary celebrated a life dedicated to making a positive impact on everything she touched.

The obituary went on to say that Gayle’s life was full of creativity, kindness, and happy memories.

The tragedy happened the night before Kyle filmed the dramatic season 10 reunion of Summer House. On the reunion, he and his wife, Amanda Batula, were scheduled to speak to the cast – including his former partner and Amanda’s close friend, Ciara Miller – for the first time since publicly confirming their relationship.
