Battlefield 6 is a major game release in 2025, and newcomers to the series might be asking: what exactly is ‘Bloom’?
As a long-time Battlefield fan, I’ve always appreciated this feature – it’s been around since Battlefield 3 way back in 2011! What I love is that it really tries to make the game feel more realistic compared to other shooters out there.
Okay, so ‘bloom’ in Battlefield 6 – it’s something that can make your shots go a little wonky, and honestly, it’s been bugging me! This explains what it is and, thankfully, how to minimize it so I can actually hit my targets. It’s a really helpful guide for getting more accurate in the game.
What is Bloom in Battlefield 6?

In Battlefield 6, holding down the fire button for too long causes your bullets to spread out more, making it harder to hit your target.
Bloom refers to the decreasing accuracy of your weapon the more you fire it, even if you’re aiming carefully.
Bloom impacts the accuracy of all weapons, whether pistols or rifles, and becomes more pronounced when you’re running or sliding.
How to avoid Bloom in Battlefield 6 explained
Bloom, that blurring effect when firing, isn’t disappearing, but you can control it by shooting in quick, controlled bursts. This helps keep your shots on target, and you can boost your accuracy even more by remaining steady – either standing or crouching.
Certain weapons let you add attachments that help control weapon sway, especially when firing fully automatic guns. These attachments don’t eliminate sway completely, but they make it easier to manage.

Honestly, I’m not totally convinced Battlefield 6 is as good as Battlefield 3 and 4. It’s tough to say if that’s just me remembering the older games through rose-tinted glasses, though!
Battlefield 6 is a fantastic game and a major improvement over Battlefield 2042, successfully getting the series back on track.
We might see a return to the grand scale of past games eventually, but right now, fans of the series have a lot to be excited about with this new installment.
