Where Hayden Panettiere Stands With Wladimir Klitschko, Daughter Kaya

Hayden Panettiere is bringing the truth on.

Eight years after giving custody of her daughter, Kaya, to her former fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, while battling addiction, the actress known for Heroes shared her thoughts on her relationship with both of them now.

Hayden shared with Us Weekly that they have a wonderful connection with both Wladimir and his brother. They expressed deep gratitude for Wladimir, describing a close and meaningful friendship that began when they first met at age 19.

She explained that it’s important for their daughter to see they can still work together as parents, even though they’re not a couple. She wanted their daughter to understand that their separation doesn’t mean they don’t love her or that she’s not safe.

And when it comes to Kaya, now 11, Hayden called her “an incredible gift.”

She’s truly special – kind, strong, and loved by those around her,” the 36-year-old said. “It means a lot to me to see her succeed in things I found difficult when I was younger.”

As the actress put it, “She’s just the best thing, all the best parts of me and Wlad.”

After separating from Wladimir Klitschko in 2018, Hayden Panettiere sought treatment for postpartum depression and substance abuse, entering rehab several times. Eventually, she gave up custody of her daughter, Kaya, to Klitschko.

Despite calling a past experience “a living nightmare,” actress Kirsten Dunst acknowledges in her upcoming memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, that she fully owns up to her mistakes as a mother.

She told Us Weekly that her daughter was her main concern when making a difficult decision. She explained that sometimes, you have to do incredibly hard things for the sake of your children.

Although giving up custody of Kaya was incredibly difficult – Hayden called it one of the worst days of her life – she emphasized that Kaya’s well-being always had to be the priority.

She explained that Wlad is a wonderful father and that he was simply trying to do what he thought was right for their daughter.

There’s absolutely no chance they’re getting back together. However, with all the recent public displays of affection – like celebrating birthdays together, hugging, and even recreating a romantic scene in a virtual performance of Fast Times at Ridgemont High – it feels like they’re just teasing everyone who’s hoping for a reunion.

It takes a certain level of confidence to playfully tease an ex on his own show. That’s exactly what Sarah did when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show to promote her new series, I Love You, America. She jokingly ribbed Jimmy about his wife, Molly Kimmel, calling her “cute,” “bright,” and “funny.” “It’s not fair!” Sarah quipped. “She got the updated, more socially aware Jimmy. I only had the ‘Man Show’ Jimmy.”

Honestly, some observers seemed more affected by this relationship ending than the people involved. When Anna—who is now married to Michael Barrett—learned that Pratt was going to marry Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019, she volunteered to perform the wedding ceremony. She even sent a gift when their daughter, Lyla, was born in August 2020. A source told TopMob News that Anna was “very supportive” and happy for her son, Jack, to have a little sister.

He calls it a “beautiful” example of how things can work out.

Since the Dancing With the Stars co-host and his wife, a former hockey player, separated in 2020, they’ve consistently shown everyone they remain friendly.

Even years after The Office ended in 2013, the chemistry between its stars still makes fans root for them as a couple. Mindy Kaling understands why, admitting that if she were a viewer, she’d feel the same way. She explained to Good Housekeeping in 2019 that choosing B.J. Novak as a godfather wasn’t just a friendly gesture—they’ve become more like family than just friends.

I’ve been following Jennifer and Michael since the beginning! It’s so interesting to me that they first connected while working on Dexter back in 2006, and then their relationship blossomed a couple of years later. Even though they sadly divorced in 2011, I always appreciated how Jennifer spoke about Michael afterward – she always emphasized there was only love and respect between them, which is lovely to see.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore are famously friendly exes, and their dedication to co-parenting daughters Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout is clear. So, it wasn’t surprising they decided to quarantine together in Idaho when stay-at-home orders were issued. Sounds like they even had some fun – maybe a dance party or two!

Even four years after their 2014 split, Jennifer Lopez continued to praise her ex-husband, and the father of her twins, Max and Emme. In a 2018 interview on Sunday Today, she explained that Marc Anthony had been instrumental in building her confidence.
