Who Is Bombsight? What We Know About the Supe & What The Boys Is Setting Up

In Season 5, Episode 4 of The Boys, the characters begin searching for V1, the very first version of Compound V. This episode also introduces Bombsight, a new supe who was injected with it. (Warning: spoilers for Episodes 1-4 ahead!) Episode 3 briefly mentioned Bombsight while explaining Soldier Boy’s survival of the supe virus. While this conversation hints at several characters appearing in Vought Rising, it’s now confirmed that Bombsight will appear in the series much sooner.

According to Variety, a new character named Bombsight will appear in a guest role during the final season of the show. He could be key to the outcome of the war between The Boys and Homelander, as both sides are searching for the V1 serum he possesses, hidden in Fort Harmony. Butcher understands this, and it won’t be long before Homelander and Soldier Boy figure it out too, leading them to hunt down Bombsight. But who exactly is this new superpowered individual?

Who Is Bombsight? What We Know About The Boys Season 5’s New V1 Supe

Even though Bombsight has been talked about recently in The Boys, and seems important to the V1 storyline, we still don’t know a lot about him as Season 5 continues. We know he received the V1 injection around the same time as Soldier Boy and was one of the original members of his team. A report from Nexus Point News in 2024 also revealed he used to be a combat pilot, which his jacket in the Vought Rising promotional images seems to confirm. This suggests he’s another super-powered individual with a military background, and combined with the effects of V1, he’s likely a very formidable opponent.

In Season 5, Episode 4 of The Boys, Butcher and MM discuss Bombsight’s strength and habits. After discovering his hidden location – a place only a handful of superpowered individuals could damage – they realize he’s incredibly strong. The presence of heroin nearby leads them to identify him specifically. Butcher describes Bombsight as someone who hits “like a bleeding sledgehammer” and uses drugs. Frenchie points out that Bombsight has been missing for decades, leaving the team to wonder why he disappeared and how they’ll be able to track him down.

Who Will Play Bombsight in The Boys & Its Solider Boy Spinoff

Even though Bombsight is good at disappearing, The Boys won’t have trouble finding him in upcoming episodes. Actor Mason Dye will play Bombsight in both Season 5 of The Boys and the Vought Rising spin-off. You might recognize Dye from Stranger Things, where he played Jason, Chrissy Cunningham’s vengeful boyfriend in Season 4. His work on that show shows he’s great at playing villains, making his role as Bombsight even more promising.

How Bombsight Could Tip the Scales of The Boys’ Final Season

Knowing that the actor playing Bombsight is talented and his character is incredibly powerful makes his arrival really captivating. It’s also intriguing that he’s unpredictable and could dramatically change how the series ends. He knows the location of the V1 serum, giving him the power to decide if Homelander can become immortal, and he’s been secretly living off the grid for years. This raises questions about potential enemies within The Seven, or a possibly hostile history with Soldier Boy.

We’ll discover more about their relationship in Vought Rising, but if they’re enemies, Bombsight could potentially assist The Boys. However, knowing what we do about the supes on Soldier Boy’s former team and Bombsight’s own flaws, he might not be a reliable partner. Still, if he can give them useful information, he could help them prevent Homelander from becoming immortal. He also seems like a strong fighter and could be valuable in developing a version of the supe virus that actually works against Soldier Boy and the V1 supes. Even though Season 5 of The Boys is nearing its end, introducing his character offers a lot of possibilities.
