The fourth season of The Traitors is back on BBC One, and viewers are already hooked!
With the shocking cliffhanger about a potential murder and the reveal of a secret Traitor, fans have a lot to speculate about.
Matthew is safe for another night, and he’s incredibly competitive. He doesn’t hold back when playing games and will do whatever it takes to win.
As the series gets underway, read on to learn more about The Traitors season 4 contestant Matthew.
Who is Matthew from The Traitors?

Age: 35
Job: Creative director
Location: Edinburgh
Matthew is a 35-year-old creative director living in Edinburgh and is admittedly rather competitive.
I’m really intrigued by this character. He’s going into this competition determined to win, but he wants to be a ‘Traitor’ – and it’s not about being malicious. He actually believes he can stay true to himself and his principles while playing the game, which is a fascinating angle. It’s not just about winning at all costs for him.
He described himself as a good person, saying he’d always be the first to offer help to someone in need on the street.
Ultimately, it’s just a game, and I’m good at separating it from real life. So, if the game requires me to eliminate another player, I won’t hesitate – I’ll do what’s necessary.
Why did Matthew apply for The Traitors?
Matthew applied for The Traitors because it’s an adventure and it seemed like fun.
He explained that his New Year’s resolution was to be more adventurous – specifically, to do things like hiking, canoeing, and camping. However, after becoming a fan of the show The Traitors, he decided to try something completely different and participate in it instead.
