**Warning: Contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Last One Laughing UK.**
Last One Laughing UK season 2 began with 10 comedians and they all had just one job: don’t laugh!
Today’s final episode (April 2nd) saw just four comedians left competing for the win, and the competition was incredibly tough.
David Mitchell, Mel Giedroyc, Sam Campbell, and the current champion, Bob Mortimer, were still competing. With only 40 minutes left in the show, host Jimmy Carr explained that they were entering a sudden-death round – the first person to laugh would be eliminated.
David Mitchell ultimately won season 2 of Last One Laughing UK, having the final laugh!

After winning, David explained it felt like entering a place devoid of joy, calling the experience ‘quite insane’.
You know, despite the rather downbeat ending, I was absolutely thrilled to win. Honestly, it probably says something about my personality that I was so pleased, but I really was! It just felt amazing.
Okay, so the last forty minutes were… a lot. Honestly, it was a real test of endurance, especially when Mortimer showed up with his laptop and started serenading David Mitchell with this surprisingly beautiful song. I was fully expecting Mitchell to crack, but he somehow held it together! It was a bizarre, unforgettable moment.
David Mitchell really impressed the other comedians with his stand-up. He then surprised Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer by showing them pictures of various cold cuts on his phone, prompting what many considered the most hilarious line of the show from Mortimer: “I am so intimately involved with luncheon meats and spams.”
Things got really fun when Alex and I started going head-to-head, making all sorts of animal sounds – I even did a pretty dramatic frog! But honestly, it was my attempt at a… let’s just say enthusiastic dolphin that ended my run. I was eliminated after that!

Mortimer quickly lost his crown when Mitchell made him laugh by saying, “I was just being silly!”
Only David Mitchell and Sam Campbell remained as potential winners, but after a full hour, neither had managed to make the other laugh. This meant they had to settle the competition with a tiebreaker.
The comedian who got the biggest laughs from the audience would win, and after six hours, it was clear that David Mitchell was the champion!
