Why Erin Andrews Believes Her Body Can Handle Another Round of IVF

Erin Andrews isn’t giving up on expanding her family.

The NFL sportscaster recently shared her continued fertility journey, revealing she tried another round of IVF treatments after being diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2017. Despite the latest attempt being unsuccessful, she remains hopeful and determined.

On the April 11th episode of their podcast, Calm Down With Erin and Charissa, Erin jokingly told cohost Charissa Thompson that she’s ‘crazy.’ She then shared that a doctor had advised her to let things unfold naturally, saying they would decide when it was time to address anything.

The 47-year-old chuckled and said, “I’m being a little crazy right now.” She explained that despite knowing her age and the challenges of egg production, she strongly believes she can still succeed. She has a feeling inside telling her to just wait and see her prove everyone wrong.

I’ve always been so impressed by Erin’s strength – she just doesn’t give up until someone actually proves something can’t be done! That incredible determination is really what I think allowed her and Jarret Stoll to finally welcome their son, Mack, in 2023, with the help of a surrogate.

Charissa explained that he faced many obstacles, but you were determined to move forward anyway.

Charissa explained that knowing you’ve done everything possible, and having someone you trust confirm there are no other options, brings peace. She reminded me, as she had before, that I had already achieved the greatest victory – a healthy baby.

Erin has openly discussed the challenges she’s experienced during her IVF treatments, particularly how she coped with the emotional pain.

She remembers that her fertility clinic was conveniently located next to a McDonald’s, but the appointments were always followed by disappointing news. She also explained that she scheduled them early in the morning so she could still manage her work responsibilities.

She explained that she’d order a sausage biscuit and two hash browns, then drive to her car to eat and cry while calling her husband. She’d tell him the attempt hadn’t worked, but that the biscuit was delicious.

While it’s been a tough road, the newscaster is glad she shared so much of her journey.

Erin explained that friends and family were aware she was struggling, and they knew she and her partner were in their 40s and didn’t have children. However, it wasn’t until her eighth attempt at treatment, while sitting in a crowded waiting room and feeling incredibly frustrated, that she realized she was needlessly embarrassed to talk about what she was going through. She wondered why she was keeping it a secret when so many others were in the same situation.

When she eventually opened up about it, she said the encouraging text messages and the feeling of others understanding were incredibly helpful.

Olivia Culpo has expressed her desire to have children, but is concerned about potential difficulties. Diagnosed with a medical condition in 2020 and undergoing surgery, she shared on her show, The Culpo Sisters, that conceiving could be challenging for her.

Endometriosis can impact fertility in several ways. It can cause tissue to grow around or on the ovaries, potentially lower egg quality, and even lead to scarring of the fallopian tubes, she explained.

Caelynn, known from Bachelor Nation, recently opened up about the challenges she and her husband, Dean Bell, have faced trying to have a baby since getting married in 2023.

In a YouTube video from March 2025, Caelynn shared that she was taking a more relaxed approach. ‘It’s tough,’ she said, ‘but I’m not putting as much pressure on myself as I did when I first started trying.’

Even though it’s been a difficult time emotionally, Caelynn is staying optimistic while she and her husband undergo medical tests to understand what’s happening with their health.

Since June 2024, Jelly Roll’s wife has been openly sharing her experiences with in vitro fertilization (IVF).

She shared on Instagram that they originally intended to keep their IVF journey private, but they decided to be open about it because they’ve always valued honesty and transparency.

She’s been openly sharing the emotional ups and downs and anxieties she experienced while going through medical treatment on her podcast, Dumb Blonde.

Despite the challenges, though, she is open to other options to grow her family.

She acknowledged it was difficult, but shared on her podcast in November 2025 that she was trusting in fate. She said that if she was meant to have a child, she would, and if not, they were open to adoption.

The cohost of Dancing With the Stars has publicly discussed her battle with endometriosis, a condition affecting women’s reproductive health. She’s also been taking steps to protect her ability to have children when she decides she’s ready.

In June 2025, she shared that she froze her eggs for the third time.

Oh my gosh, I’ve been following Audrina Patridge’s story since the very beginning, and it just breaks my heart! Ever since she and Tim Rosenman welcomed little Sonny in 2017, she’s been so open about everything – the good and the really tough stuff. It’s been so brave of her to share that getting Sonny here wasn’t easy at all. She’s talked about how she sadly lost two pregnancies, and then even her surrogate had two miscarriages! It’s just been one heartbreaking thing after another, and I honestly feel for her so much. She’s so real!

In July 2024, Whitney confirmed she’s preparing for a second egg retrieval.

Oh my gosh, she sounded so much more confident this time! She said she’s definitely feeling better than last time, because she knows what to expect now, which is amazing. But honestly, the sweetest part was how much she trusts her doctor – she was practically glowing talking about it! It just makes me feel so hopeful for her.

Whitney has consistently expressed that her family feels complete with three members, regardless of whether or not they decide to have another child.

Michelle Yeoh, known for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once, revealed she faced difficulties getting pregnant while married to her first husband, Dickson Poon. She married Jean Todt in 2023 after being engaged for 19 years.

I’ve always been so touched by Michelle’s honesty. She recently shared on a podcast that having children was something she deeply desired, and she really put herself through a lot, trying fertility treatments to make it happen. She described the monthly cycle as incredibly difficult, saying it felt like a personal failure each time. It’s heartbreaking, but so relatable for anyone who’s been through something similar.

She explained that eventually, you need to stop blaming yourself. Sometimes, our bodies simply don’t work the way we expect, and that’s okay. The important thing is to accept it and keep moving forward.

The rapper, who has a son named Wilde with her husband Maximillion Cooper, previously revealed she suffered a devastating miscarriage caused by an ectopic pregnancy while working on her TV show, Eve.

In her memoir, Who’s That Girl?, Eve revealed that she found out she was pregnant in 2006. She needed emergency surgery, which meant taking a two-week break from filming. Looking back, she’s not sure why she told everyone on set she had appendicitis, admitting she might have been in denial about the pregnancy itself.

She explained that if she lost her baby, she wasn’t sure two weeks would be enough time to recover emotionally. As it turned out, even that short period wasn’t quite enough for her body to heal physically, as she had to return to work on set very quickly. She’d lost a lot of weight from the surgery and was feeling very weak.

Selling Sunset star Maya Vander has openly discussed the challenges she and her husband, Romain Bonnet, faced while trying to have a baby. She was only 15 years old when she gave birth to her son, Austin.

In September 2024, she told TopMob News that she wasn’t sure how things would turn out and was just dealing with things as they happened. She explained she’s been very busy with her book and the current season, and she believes nothing will progress if she’s overly stressed or overwhelmed.

Mary shared that she had surgery to correct a condition called a septate uterus, where a membrane divides the uterus. She and Romain aren’t in a hurry to make any big life decisions right now and are content enjoying life with their dog.

The real estate agent also mentioned their pet, Thor, saying their son, Romaine, absolutely adores him. Even if the sale doesn’t go through, Romaine is content because he has Thor, and they’ll all be alright. They’re trying to stay positive and believe everything will work out as it should.

NFL sportscaster Erin Andrews and her husband, Jarret Stoll, became parents to their son, Mack, in July 2023. Their path to parenthood hasn’t always been easy, as they previously faced a challenge when Erin was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2017.

After freezing her eggs before starting cancer treatment, she used IVF to have a baby and chose to publicly share her journey.

She explained that she finally felt she needed to speak up about her difficulties, sharing her story in an essay in 2021. She described it as a very difficult and painful experience, one that left her feeling emotionally detached. It felt like an endless cycle of bad news, and she felt helpless and powerless throughout it all.

She explained that she’s comfortable speaking openly and honestly about how difficult the experience was, and that she understands how many couples and families struggle with trying to have a child.
