Season 4 of Invincible picks up where the hit Prime Video series left off, and the conflict with the Viltrumites is now the central focus. Mark Grayson is facing immense pressure as he learns more about the Viltrum Empire and its plans for Earth. After discovering his father, Omni-Man, was secretly sent to Earth as an advance scout for an invasion, Mark realizes Earth isn’t the only planet threatened by the Viltrumites.
Mark is in a tough spot. Despite his resistance, Omni-Man’s superiors still want to conquer Earth, and they now believe Mark should be the one to do it. His refusal has resulted in difficult battles with Viltrumites like Anissa and Conquest. When season 4 of Invincible starts, Mark appears with a robotic arm and leg.
Mark’s Robotic Limbs Are A Result Of His Fight Against Conquest

Don’t worry, Mark doesn’t actually lose arms or legs in Invincible season 4! The robotic parts are there to help him heal after his tough battle with Conquest at the end of season 3. He was seriously injured in the fight and needs the mechanical braces temporarily to function.
Since Mark’s braces look a lot like the armor Rudy wears in his robot battles, it’s likely Rudy will design them for Mark.
Re-watching the fight between Invincible and Conquest, it’s genuinely shocking how much damage Mark takes. I mean, you see his left leg get completely snapped – it looked like breaking a breadstick! He manages to punch right through Conquest’s metal arm, but his own hand just explodes doing it. And then, at the very end, Conquest just… bends Mark’s hand backwards after catching that last, weak punch. It’s brutal stuff, even knowing what’s coming.
Mark’s Robot Limbs Reveal A Lot About His Situation In Invincible Season 4
As a huge fan of Invincible, I’ve seen Mark get seriously hurt – like, really hurt – a bunch of times. Usually, he just spends a couple of days recovering in the hospital, and then he’s back to fighting thanks to his Viltrumite side. But the fight with Conquest was different. Seeing Mark in those robotic braces wasn’t just about showing how incredibly strong Conquest was – he’s definitely the toughest villain Mark has faced so far. It also felt like a bad sign for what’s coming with the Viltrumite War. It looks like Mark’s going to be facing a lot more enemies just as powerful, and it’s honestly a little scary!
The fact that Mark needs braces at the start of season 4 shows how critical the situation has become. In the past, he’s always had time to recover between fights. Now, either the threat to Earth is so severe that he can’t take time off to heal, or he’s so eager to fight that he’s pushing himself before his body is ready.
Both explanations likely hold a degree of truth in Invincible season 4.
