As a huge Star Wars fan, I’ve always known the toys and collectibles were a massive part of what made it so successful. But it’s amazing to think that George Lucas actually planned for that from the very beginning! He made a deal where he personally benefited from all the merchandise sales. It was a brilliant move, really – those profits helped him fund the later films and keep creative control over the whole saga. It’s no wonder Star Wars is still going strong today!
Even after almost 50 years, Star Wars collectibles remain highly sought after, and LEGO minifigures are particularly valuable. One minifigure – Yoda, released in 2013 – recently sold for an incredible $4,195.38, making it the most expensive Star Wars LEGO minifigure ever, according to BrickRanker.
The Yoda “I Love New York” Figure Is the Most Expensive Star Wars Lego Minifigure Of All Time

Released in 2013, the Yoda “NY I Heart” minifigure was a special item given out when LEGO revealed its biggest model ever – a full-size X-wing fighter. The figure’s design is based on Yoda’s appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and it shares the same large eyes, ears, and white hair as other minifigures from that series. The only truly unique part is the torso, which is white with the phrase “NY I Heart” printed on it – a playful nod to Yoda’s unusual way of speaking.
This Yoda minifigure is highly valuable because it’s extremely rare. Only 1,000 were ever made, making it one of the rarest Star Wars minifigures ever produced. Its charming and playful design also adds to its appeal.
As a collector, here’s the big thing you need to know: if you open a LEGO minifigure from its original cardboard sleeve and box, its value plummets. That sleeve is really unique – it’s got fun facts about a massive, five-million-piece LEGO X-wing build on one side, and an ad for The Yoda Chronicles on the other. But honestly, this particular minifigure is one of the most counterfeited out there, so if it’s not still sealed, there’s a good chance it’s a fake. It makes sense, though – when something’s worth a lot, people try to scam you!
This minifigure will likely always be a highly sought-after treasure for collectors. It’s not just rare—owners are very attached to it and rarely put it up for sale. As the most expensive Star Wars LEGO minifigure ever created, it’s expected to stay that way, making it incredibly difficult to obtain.
