After a six-year wait, one of Netflix’s most unusual and popular anime series is returning for a second season. Netflix has become known for its exclusive anime content, and this year has already delivered several big hits. Fans are especially excited now that a release date has been announced, and there’s hope another popular series will also be available on the streaming service soon.
I remember when Dorohedoro first came to Netflix as an anime in 2020. It took a while, but they finally announced a second season was happening in 2024. There were a few updates and some delays in 2025, but now it’s confirmed – Season 2 will be streaming worldwide starting April 1st! To get a sneak peek, you can check out a first look at the new season below.
Dorohedoro Season 2 Release Date Confirmed Ahead of Anime Return

I’m so excited for Dorohedoro Season 2, which kicks off April 1st! There’s some cool news though – the first season, which has only been on Netflix until now, is going to be available on other streaming services starting March 8th, according to TOHO Animation. They’re hinting that Season 2 will be even more widely available, not just on one platform like before. Keep an eye out for more details as we get closer to spring – I can’t wait to find out where we’ll all be watching!
Season 2 of Dorohedoro, based on Q Hayashida’s manga, brings back the original voice cast, including Wataru Takagi as Caiman, Reina Kondou as Nikaido, Kenyu Horiuchi as En, and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Shin, along with many others. The team behind the first season is also returning, with Yuichiro Hayashi directing at studio MAPPA, Hiroshi Seko writing the scripts, Tomohiro Kishi handling character design, and [K]NoW_Name and Fairy_gone composing the music.
What Even Is Dorohedoro?

The manga Dorohedoro was published in Shogakukan’s Monthly Ikki and Monthly Shonen Sunday magazines for nearly two decades, from 2000 to 2018. An anime adaptation premiered in 2020, standing out as a particularly unique and exciting season amidst numerous delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The story takes place in a grim, cursed city, and follows Caiman, a man with amnesia, as he tries to uncover the sorcerers responsible for the city’s troubles.
Dorohedoro is best experienced by watching it, so fans should check out the first season, which is currently available on Netflix. As of now, Netflix is the only streaming platform where you can watch it, and it’s unclear if it will be added to others starting in March.
