The Spider-Noir installment on Prime Video has arrived, and it’s one of the best Marvel projects Sony has created so far.
Everyone knows that while the Spider-Verse movies have been a huge success, the studio has had difficulty creating its own rival to the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although Tom Hardy’s Venom movies made decent money at the box office, critics didn’t love the trilogy. Other recent movies focusing on villains – like Morbius, Madame Web, and Kraven the Hunter – weren’t successful.
Spider-Noir stands out as a genuinely good addition to the superhero genre, largely thanks to Nicolas Cage’s excellent performance in the show’s eight-episode first season, which is likely to leave audiences wanting a second one.
So, what does the future of Spider-Noir look like? Here’s what we know so far.
Will there be a Spider-Noir season 2?

It’s currently unknown if Prime Video will renew Spider-Noir for another season or end the show, but we should find out within the next few months.
The show launched with a slightly different schedule depending on location. It became available on MGM+ in the US a few days before it premiered on Prime Video in other countries. All eight episodes were released at once, allowing viewers to watch them all at their own pace.
Prime Video rarely releases viewing numbers, but Nielsen, a US ratings company, provides reliable estimates of how well shows are doing in North America, so it’s worth watching for their reports.
We should have a better idea of whether Spider-Noir will be back for a second season in a few weeks, once these results are processed. However, the show’s creators have said they’re interested in continuing the series if possible.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the executive producers behind Sony’s Spider-Verse movies, playfully hinted to The Hollywood Reporter in May 2026 that they were open to a second season, stating they wouldn’t rule it out.
One of the great things about the show’s detective concept, according to co-showrunner Oren Uziel, is that it allows for many different kinds of mysteries to be explored.
He jokingly said that as long as new clients keep appearing, the show will continue to generate fresh storylines and challenges, allowing it to run for as many seasons as the creators desire.
Who could star in a potential Spider-Noir season 2?

If the show Spider-Noir gets picked up for another season, Nicolas Cage will likely return as Ben Reilly, the character also known as The Spider.
Based on how Spider-Noir’s story concluded, it seems likely his future investigations would include his business associate Janet (Karen Rodriguez) and friend, journalist Robbie Robertson (Lamorne Morris).
In addition to the three main characters, a potential second season would likely feature a mostly new cast. Several characters, including the villains Silvermane (played by Brendan Gleeson) and Megawatt (Andrew Lewis Caldwell), were planned to die before the end of the first season.
Lonnie Lincoln, Cat Hardy, and Flint Marko—also known as Sandman—all survived, but it feels like their storylines have essentially finished.
Here’s a look at the characters who might appear in a potential second season of Spider-Noir, if the show comes back.
- Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly / The Spider
- Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson
- Karen Rodriguez as Janet Ruiz
- Cary Christopher as Frankie
- Michael Kostroff as Mayor Morris
What could happen in a potential Spider-Noir season 2?
While no specific plot details for a potential second season of Spider-Noir have been revealed, co-showrunner Oren Uziel has hinted at many exciting possibilities if the show gets renewed.
He explained to SFX Magazine (as reported by GamesRadar) that he believes the current setting – whether it’s New York or somewhere else – provides a fantastic foundation for telling more stories.
It’s clear that as time went on after 1933, things were moving towards financial difficulties in New York, and also a major global conflict – a dramatic setting for any story.
