Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Boroughs.
Netflix’s new sci-fi series, The Boroughs, is a thrilling monster hunt that blends the feel of Stranger Things with the cozy mystery of The Thursday Murder Club. Fans are now wondering if the story will continue with a second season.
Alfred Molina plays Sam, a man hesitant to adjust to life in a charming retirement community where mysterious events are unfolding. The series is executive produced by the creators of ‘Stranger Things,’ the Duffer Brothers.
Working alongside stars like Geena Davis and Alfre Woodard, he became caught up in a frightening supernatural mystery with dangerous results.
Now that this mystery is solved, will the team investigate another one? Here’s what we’ve learned so far.
Will there be The Boroughs season 2?
The Boroughs has not yet been renewed for season 2.
Because the final episode had an unclear ending, fans are hoping the show will be renewed for a second season.
Netflix will probably wait to see how well the show does before deciding whether to make another season.

When could a potential season 2 of The Boroughs be released?
Currently, it’s difficult to say when a second season could be released.
Season 1 was turned around in three years, with the show originally being ordered in 2023.
If a second season is approved, we anticipate it will be released sooner than the first, potentially as early as 2028.

Which cast members could return for a potential season 2 of The Boroughs?
If a season 2 is confirmed, we’d expect the following cast members to return:
- Alfred Molina as Sam Cooper
- Geena Davis as Renee
- Alfre Woodard as Judy
- Clarke Peters as Art
- Denis O’Hare as Wally
- Jena Malone as Claire
- Carlos Miranda as Paz
Considering what happened in the first season, it’s unlikely Bill Pullman will reprise his role as Jack, and we probably won’t see any of the previous season’s main villains return either.
Is there a trailer for The Boroughs season 2?
Not yet! Why not revisit the season 1 trailer in the meantime?
The Boroughs is available to stream on Netflix now.
