It seems like a long time ago that The Astronauts first announced Witchfire in December 2017, and it’s taken almost six years for the game to become available in early access. However, development has been consistently moving forward, and recently they reached a significant achievement: selling 500,000 copies.
Witchfire first became available on the Epic Games Store for PC (you can read our review here). It’s now also available in Steam Early Access. The complete game, with the full story, will launch next year, but one final update is coming before then, adding the last region to explore.
The newest update, called The Reckoning, is available now! It makes close-quarters fighting better and adds three new weapons – the Morgenstern, Buckler, and Katar – to give you more options in battle. The update also introduces World Corruption, which creates challenges as the world fights back against you, and Surges, which are temporary power-ups that enhance your abilities.
And if all that wasn’t exciting enough, you can even practice your aim at an on-site shooting range. You can find complete details in the full notes here.
Thank you to everyone playing Witchfire.
