The highly anticipated action game, Phantom Blade Zero, will be released on September 9, 2026, as revealed at The Game Awards 2025. This immersive Wuxia game – inspired by Chinese fantasy and similar in style to the popular game Black Myth: Wukong – promises a challenging and visually stunning experience.
The game’s reveal trailer is stunning and atmospheric, showcasing rain-soaked landscapes and intense samurai battles in just four minutes. PlayStation describes the trailer as a glimpse into a “kungfupunk world” filled with mystery, political maneuvering, and exciting, movie-style combat.
“Phew thank goodness no stamina bar! Pre ordering now,” says one happy comment on YouTube.
Soul, the main character of Phantom Blade Zero, is a determined warrior who doesn’t slow down to worry about resting – he’s on a desperate quest. The game’s description reveals he’s been falsely accused of his master’s murder and has only 66 days to live, along with a damaged heart. Despite this, he sets out into a strange world filled with changing landscapes, fading memories, powerful technology, and supernatural beings.
Okay, I’m seriously hyped for Phantom Blade! The new trailer showed some incredible fights – he’s using these really cool ancient weapons. I spotted what looked like a Qiang spear, which he uses to just smash enemies back, and a simple dagger for some seriously brutal close-up attacks. Let’s just say it’s very bloody – he even stabs a multi-headed creature right in the neck! It looks amazing.
In Phantom Blade, your skills with weapons are key to success. The game features over thirty different weapons, and you can customize them with more than twenty unique ‘Phantom Edges’ to create a fighting style that fits you perfectly.
Beat strong enemies to earn their weapons and learn their special moves. Build up your collection and overcome anyone who challenges you.
