WNBA Star Angel Reese Joining The Hunting Wives Season 2

Angel Reese is adding “Thespian Barbie” to her list of nicknames.

A WNBA player will be a guest star on the second season of the Netflix drama The Hunting Wives, alongside Brittany Snow, Malin Akerman, and other cast members.

Angel, age 23, announced on Instagram on January 20th that she’s joined the cast of a new series based on May Cobb’s novel. She posted a picture of herself on set, sitting in a director’s chair, and shared behind-the-scenes glimpses on her Instagram Stories. In one story, she playfully suggested her character might be called “Trainer Barbie.”

Chicago Sky forward Elizabeth Williams may have hinted at her upcoming role in August, tweeting about the show The Hunting Wives and calling it “CRAZYYYY but good.”

Following the broadcast, the show’s creator, Rebecca Cutter, expressed her willingness to collaborate with Angel again, saying she was available if they needed her for a second season.

This new TV role isn’t the first time Angel has acted. She previously made a cameo appearance as herself in the 2025 political thriller A House of Dynamite, which starred Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson. That experience sparked her interest in a career in acting.

I’ve been thinking about leveling up my skills, and I recently decided to get an acting coach. It was actually Common who gave me the nudge! We were chatting, and he – he’s filming season two of Silo abroad right now – strongly suggested it. He really emphasized how helpful a coach can be, and honestly, it made a lot of sense.

Angel admitted she was very nervous before filming began, but her fellow actors helped her quickly feel comfortable on set.

Honestly, one of the best parts of the whole experience was the cast. I immediately felt at ease because I was surrounded by such wonderful people, especially the women. They created a really supportive and comfortable environment, which made everything so much better.

And besides, Angel has already begun expanding her empire outside of basketball.

I already work as a model, so this feels like a natural addition to my experience. I’m enjoying it while I’m still young and have the energy for it.
