The hugely popular game Minecraft is getting its own theme park! Mojang Studios, the game’s creator, just announced the exciting news.
This sandbox game first came out in 2011 and has since become incredibly popular, selling hundreds of millions of copies and continuing to captivate children around the globe.
After the huge success of last year’s A Minecraft Movie, Mojang, the company behind Minecraft, has announced that players will soon be able to play the game in real life.
During the recent Minecraft Live event, Mojang and Merlin Entertainments (a UK-based company) announced Minecraft World, which will be the first theme park ever based on the popular game Minecraft.

I’m so excited about the new Minecraft World being built at Chessington! From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be amazing – they’re creating a whole area based on the game, with a Minecraft-themed rollercoaster, all the different environments (biomes), and even characters and items you recognize. It sounds like you’ll be able to really interact with everything too, which is awesome!
Torfi Frans Ólafsson, a creative director at Minecraft, explained that Minecraft World is a major step in growing the Minecraft experience. He described it as a place where players can step into the world of Minecraft and enjoy adventures with loved ones.

We’re collaborating closely with Mojang Studios to build a truly authentic Minecraft world that fans around the globe will love to explore and enjoy in a completely new way.
Minecraft World is scheduled to open at Chessington World of Adventures in 2027.
