Digital Bros, the company behind 505 Games, has purchased the rights to the game ‘Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.’ This comes after the game’s development team, Lenzee Games, was shut down last week, leaving the future of the game uncertain.
Digital Bros recently announced it has purchased the rights to the game ‘Wuchang: Fallen Feathers’ for approximately €4 million (about $4.6 million USD). According to the company, owning the IP will allow them to quickly and effectively plan the game’s future and make related investment decisions.
The statement continued:
This deal gives the Group complete ownership of the intellectual property, meaning they’ll keep all the value it creates over its lifetime and won’t have to pay any future royalties to the original developer. The total cost is RMB 32 million (around Euro 4 million), which will be covered by the Group’s existing credit facilities.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, the game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers had a successful launch in July 2025. It peaked at over 130,000 players on Steam and has sold over a million copies worldwide, generating over €30 million (approximately $35 million) in revenue. Digital Bros stated these numbers demonstrate the game’s quality and promising future.
Currently, there aren’t any plans for downloadable content or expansions for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. However, if Digital Bros sees long-term possibilities for the game, they’ll likely task a different development team with creating a sequel soon.
Although some felt Wuchang relied too heavily on the established style of soulslike games, it was praised for its impressive combat, graphics, artistic design, and challenging boss battles. A sequel, potentially developed by a team with more creative freedom, could revitalize the franchise with new concepts.
