Microsoft’s Xbox and PC Game Pass added five games on their release day this week. While none are major titles, one is a new entry in a long-running Ubisoft franchise that started in the 1990s, and another is a sci-fi game from the creators of Life Is Strange. These games weren’t made by Xbox Game Studios, meaning they won’t be available forever, but it’s currently unknown how long they’ll stay on the service.
Hey everyone, I’m so excited – Xbox Game Pass just added five new games today! And the best part? If you’re a Game Pass subscriber, you get a sweet 20% discount on each of these games as long as they’re on the service. Definitely worth checking out!
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is the latest installment in the classic turn-based strategy series, Heroes of Might and Magic, which first launched in 1995. After a seven-year gap since the last release, this new game from Unfrozen, Hooded Horse, and Ubisoft is currently available in early access exclusively for PC Game Pass players on PC.
Because Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is still in early access, it doesn’t have a Metacritic score. However, 90% of Steam users currently recommend it.
Aphelion
Aphelion is a science fiction action game developed by Don’t Nod, the creators of the popular Life is Strange series. While it’s a new game from the studio, reviews (with a Metacritic score between 63 and 72) suggest it isn’t their strongest title. You can play it with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription.
Inkonbini
Inkonbini: One Stores. Many Stories is a story-focused, realistic simulation game created by Nagai Industries and published by Beep Japan. This is Nagai Industries’ first game, and it’s been very well-received, earning a score of 85 on Metacritic. Like the game mentioned above, you can play it with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription.
TerraTech Legion
TerraTech Legion is an action roguelite game currently in early access. It’s the third game developed by Mythwright and the third installment in the TerraTech series. Payload Studios is handling publishing. While it doesn’t have a Metacritic score yet, 89% of Steam players recommend it. You can play it with PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Sledding Game
Finally, Sledding Game is another early access title available with both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. It doesn’t have a Metacritic score yet, but players on Steam overwhelmingly love it, giving it a 97% approval rating. The game is being created and published by The Sledding Corporation.
