
After raising prices for Xbox Series X/S consoles globally in May, Microsoft is now increasing prices in the United States. Starting October 3rd, the Xbox Series X will cost $649.99, a $50 increase, and the Xbox Series S will be priced at $599.99, up from $549.99.
The Xbox Series S will now cost $399.99 for the 512 GB model and $449.99 for the 1 TB version – both are slightly more expensive than before. The biggest price change is for the Xbox Series X 2 TB Galaxy Black Edition, which will cost $799.99, a $70 increase.
Controllers, headsets, and games will not be affected by the price increase. Microsoft explained the second price hike is due to the changing economic conditions in the United States, acknowledging these conditions are difficult but stating the decision was made after careful thought.
Video game console prices have been fluctuating a lot recently. Both Nintendo and Sony have already raised the prices of the Switch and PlayStation 5. It’s possible prices could go up again soon, so we’ll keep you updated.
