Despite being released on the PlayStation 5 more than two years after it first came out, Starfield still seems to be performing well, suggesting Bethesda made a good choice bringing it to that platform.
The science fiction role-playing game, which had a somewhat mixed response when it first came out, is now quickly climbing the pre-order charts on the PlayStation Store.
In the United States, the game’s Premium Edition is currently third in popularity, trailing only the upcoming release of Crimson Desert. The standard version is also performing well, currently ranking sixth.
The UK sees a similar trend, with those two games ranking third and fourth – ahead of titles like 007 First Light and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
The game was just announced for this platform earlier this week, and with its release date of April 7th approaching, it’s expected to stay prominent until then.
The announcement trailer on PlayStation’s YouTube channel quickly gained traction, reaching 200,000 views – a solid result for its initial release.
On X (formerly Twitter), PlayStation’s announcement about the game quickly gained attention, receiving about 10,000 likes and more than 2.5 million views.
This indicates there’s still strong demand for Starfield on PlayStation 5. While we don’t expect it to be as successful as other Xbox games released on PlayStation, like Forza Horizon 5, we believe it will significantly boost the game’s popularity and longevity.
