Y2K-era Japan electronics repair shop simulator ReStory announced for PC

tinyBuild and Mandragora, the creators of I Am Future, are releasing a new game called ReStory. It’s a simulation where you manage an electronics repair shop in Japan during the year 2000, and it’s coming to Steam in 2026.

Evgeny Kisterev, director of Mandragora studio, explains that ReStory is inspired by a longing for the early 2000s – a time of sharing ringtones via infrared and using pencils to rewind cassette tapes. He remembers when devices felt personal and unique, a feeling lost in today’s world of identical screens. Kisterev, deeply impressed by Japan’s impact on technology, chose 2000s Tokyo as the game’s setting and is excited to share this wave of nostalgia with players, hoping they’ll fondly remember that era too.
