Some lucky fans will have a chance to see the movie Wicked: For Good before it comes out in theaters. A special early access event will let select audiences watch the highly anticipated sequel ahead of its official release.
How to watch Wicked: For Good before its release date
You can see the new movie *Wicked: For Good* a little early! Universal Pictures and Amazon are offering special advance showings for Prime members on November 17th, 2025 – four days before the movie officially comes out. These screenings will be in select U.S. theaters, and you can buy tickets through Fandango.
The new movie picks up where the first one left off, following Elphaba (played by Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (played by Ariana Grande) as they embrace their fates in the land of Oz. The original film, which came out in 2024, was a huge success, earning $757 million around the world.
The film was critically well-received, earning an 88% “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes and receiving ten Academy Award nominations, winning two. Building on the success of the first film, Universal is promoting the sequel as a highly anticipated release.
Fans can get early access to tickets by being an active Amazon Prime member. They can sign up for notifications about when tickets become available at OzOnAmazon. These screenings are part of a bigger promotion from Amazon, which also includes special features for Alexa, a charity livestream on Twitch, and exclusive Wicked merchandise available at the OzOnAmazon store.
As a movie lover, I was excited to hear that Prime members can stream or rent the first *Wicked* movie on Prime Video – a perfect way to refresh your memory before the sequel comes out! If you’re not already a member, it costs $14.99 a month or $139 for the year, but there are discounts for students and those who qualify for government assistance. And hey, you can even sign up for a free trial to check it out and get access to this deal while it’s running!
I’m so excited for Wicked: For Good! It’s directed by Jon M. Chu and stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum – what a cast! It’s based on the incredible Broadway musical and the book by Gregory Maguire, and it’s going to finish telling the story of the Witches of Oz on the big screen. I can’t wait!
