Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Players Blown Away By New Secret After 28 Years

This year marks over 40 years of the beloved The Legend of Zelda series, and even the original games are still revealing surprises. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, released in 1998, was a key game for many players – including myself – and really propelled the series to new heights with its fully realized 3D world. It’s amazing to learn that even now, Shigeru Miyamoto is still sharing previously unknown details about the game.

A recent Instagram reel from nostalgicloft showed that there’s a new trick to avoid one of the most frightening enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – and I want to learn it! These aren’t just scary for that one game, though. They’re arguably the scariest enemies in the entire Zelda series, and possibly the most terrifying foes ever to appear on a Nintendo console.

Ocarina Of Time Players Have Been Dealing With ReDeads All Wrong

Loud And Slow Wins The Day

While games like Resident Evil and Alan Wake 2 have frightening enemies, many The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time players consider the ReDead to be truly terrifying.

These creatures are truly terrifying. Imagine a horrifying, zombie-like figure with a scream so chilling it can paralyze you and even Link. If they get close, they’ll leap onto your back and begin to devour you as if you were a plate of delicious, but unfortunately doomed, greens!

For a long time, players have figured out that the best way to survive encounters with these frightening, unseen creatures is to move slowly and stay silent. But we’ve recently learned something new that might change everything.

To easily defeat ReDead, equip Link with iron boots. Although they’re noisy, the sound doesn’t matter. The slow movement speed provided by the boots actually makes Link invisible to the ReDead, allowing you to walk right past them – a clever trick!
