007 First Light’s Opening Moments Officially Revealed as Physical Copies Arrive Early

IO Interactive has officially released the first 13-or-so minutes of 007 First Light.

Some players have started receiving physical copies of the game before its official release date, which could result in spoilers for the beginning of the game.

Luckily, these initial copies of the game won’t spoil much of the story, because players will need to download a large update on the first day to play most of it.

Despite that, IOI has revealed the beginning of the game’s first chapter, and you can view it here:

The game is launching soon, officially on May 27th! If you pre-order, you can start playing 24 hours early.

We imagine most will just want to wait until then to get a first-hand experience.

Looks like there’s a problem for the makers of the new James Bond game, 007 First Light! Copies of the game have been sent out early, before it was officially supposed to be released.

It’s a common issue for gamers excited about a new release: spoilers often pop up online before they’ve had a chance to experience the game themselves.

It appears the physical disc version of the game has limited content available to players.

A user online says they own a copy of the 007 First Light game. They can start the game, but it’s been proven that most of the story content isn’t actually included on the game disc.

During a recent Q&A, a fan asked IO Interactive if their game needs to be online to play, or if it can be enjoyed offline.

So, the developer explained that you actually have to download an initial update before you can really start playing. But the cool thing is, once that first patch is downloaded, you can disconnect from the internet and enjoy the game completely offline! That’s a big relief for those of us who like to game without needing a constant connection.

Players who get the game early won’t be able to experience the complete story right away. Anyone who buys a physical copy will need to download an update on release day to play the game as intended.

Okay, so even though some copies of 007 First Light are out there already, it looks like we probably won’t be hit with a ton of spoilers before the official release date of May 27th. That’s a relief – I want to go in as blind as possible!
