Wow, 2025 was an amazing year for movies, but honestly, The Housemaid really blew everyone away! I was so surprised by how huge it became – it made almost $400 million worldwide on just a $35 million budget! And now it’s breaking records on streaming too. I’m already excited for the sequel they’re planning for 2027! I just found out I can watch one of the movie’s stars in some older sci-fi films on Hulu, which is a fun bonus!
The sci-fi action film In Time, directed by Andrew Niccol, became available on Hulu on April 1st, fifteen years after its 2011 theatrical release. The movie stars Amanda Seyfried and Justin Timberlake in a futuristic 2169 where people stop aging at 25, and time is used instead of money. The story follows a man falsely accused of murder who joins forces with a rich woman to fight against a flawed and unfair system. While the film earned $174 million worldwide on a $40 million budget, it didn’t receive much attention and has largely been forgotten since its release.
Amanda Seyfried’s In Time Is the Slept-On Sci-Fi Thriller You Need To See
Despite featuring stars and a talented creative team – including cinematography by Roger Deakins – the movie In Time didn’t receive much attention from critics or audiences. It currently has low scores on Rotten Tomatoes and is often considered one of Amanda Seyfried’s lesser-known films. While many saw it as a promising idea that didn’t quite deliver, In Time is still worth a watch.
Released 15 years ago, the movie In Time feels surprisingly relevant today. It uses a futuristic setting – where the wealthy can live forever while the poor struggle to survive – to explore issues of class and economic inequality. The film follows a Robin Hood-esque story with exciting chases and constant tension, as the main characters steal time from the rich to give to those in need. It’s a visually appealing and fast-paced sci-fi film that manages to be both entertaining and thought-provoking.
What’s New on Hulu?
Hulu is adding a lot of great content this April! Along with the movie In Time, they’ve already included titles like The Day After Tomorrow, Napoleon Dynamite, Primitive War, and all the Hunger Games films. More is on the way too! Keep an eye out for the horror film Shelby Oaks arriving on April 17th, followed by Good Boy on April 25th, and Silent Night on April 29th. Hulu will be adding even more movies and shows throughout the month.
