Crunchyroll is the leading streaming service for anime lovers worldwide, offering a huge library of anime series and movies. Each season, they add dozens of new shows and continuations of popular titles, including Donghua – Chinese animation that’s becoming increasingly popular. While Japanese anime gets most of the spotlight, Chinese series are often just as creative and engaging. One example is Link Click, a unique supernatural mystery that premiered in 2021 and is considered one of the best of the decade. Before the release of its third season, a live-action adaptation began airing in April and will continue weekly in Japan until June 2026.
The live-action series will finish its run soon, and the first part of Season 3 will arrive in July 2026 as part of the summer anime season. Originally planned for a Fall 2026 release, it’s coming earlier to celebrate the series’ 5th anniversary. The official series account on X announced the news and also promoted an upcoming exhibition. The second part of Season 3 is expected in 2027, but we likely won’t hear more details until after the first part airs.
What Is Link Click About?

The story seems simple at first, but it’s actually a deeply emotional and action-packed tale. The series centers around Xiaoshi Cheng and Guang Lu, who run a small shop called “Time Photo Studio.” It looks like a normal photography studio, but they secretly offer a unique and extraordinary service to a select group of customers.
This pair has the unique ability to step inside photographs and fulfill people’s wishes, but with one crucial rule: they can’t alter past events. Even a small change to the past could have serious repercussions, so Xiaoshi and Guang must be incredibly careful. Xiaoshi enters a photo and temporarily controls the person who originally took it, while Guang uses the pictures to observe the past. He guides Xiaoshi throughout the process, making sure nothing is changed.
Things quickly become complicated for them as they face increasingly dangerous challenges and powerful foes. The second season ended with a major cliffhanger, hinting at even greater threats to come. The upcoming season promises to be the most thrilling yet, and will likely answer many questions about the characters. If you’re excited for season three, be sure to rewatch the first two seasons, which are available on Crunchyroll.
