Throughout the history of Power Rangers, we’ve seen many amazing Green and Black Rangers. However, there’s only been one time when both a Green and Black Ranger first appeared together. Four years ago today, a particularly impressive pair of Rangers made their debut!
The fourth episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury, titled “New Recruits,” premiered on March 20, 2021, and significantly expanded the team. It introduced Izzy and Javi Garcia as the Green and Black Rangers, respectively. Throughout the episode, the step-siblings quickly bonded with Zayto, Amelia, and Ollie, assisting them in battle and discovering the missing Tiger and Stego Dino Keys. Once they joined the team as Rangers, they became integral members.
Izzy and Javi Immediately Make An Impact on Dino Fury

When Izzy and Javi become part of the team, they complete the central group of five and quickly start to make a difference. The show explores the siblings’ relationship with each other and their father throughout both seasons of Dino Fury. Because Warden Garcia is a consistent character, this family dynamic is a recurring theme, and we see their relationships develop significantly from the beginning of the series through Cosmic Fury.

Being siblings gives Izzy and Javi a built-in connection that the rest of the Rangers, who are still getting to know each other, don’t share. While they sometimes disagree, they deeply trust each other and can always count on one another in tough situations. This strong bond allows the other Rangers to work well with them, while still letting their unique sibling dynamic shine.
Javi and Izzy are compelling characters because they each face personal struggles while adjusting to life as Power Rangers. Izzy, in particular, receives significant development throughout the season, even before Fern appears. Their relationship then becomes a central focus of the story in both Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury.
Izzy and Javi are a fantastic pair and have quickly become fan favorites, making the show even better with their addition.
Power Rangers Dino Fury is streaming on Netflix.
