4 Years Later, Hidden Gem Crunchyroll Isekai Confirms Season 2 Return With New Trailer

Fans of fantasy anime rejoice! A lesser-known but highly-rated ‘isekai’ series is returning to Crunchyroll this summer with a new season. Crunchyroll has already delivered a lot of great ‘isekai’ shows this year, with both new releases and returning favorites. And there’s still more to come, as the streaming service has even more content planned for the summer and fall.

Crunchyroll announced a wave of new Isekai anime coming this summer, including the return of a highly anticipated series. Skeleton Knight in Another World finished its first season in 2022 and will be back for a second season later this summer. To build excitement, Crunchyroll has released a new trailer for Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2, which you can watch below.

When Does Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2 Come Out?

Season 2 of Skeleton Knight in Another World is set to debut in July as part of the Summer 2024 anime lineup, though an exact release date hasn’t been announced yet. You can watch the new season on Crunchyroll as it comes out in Japan, and the first season is available there now. Some of the original staff are returning, but there will be a few changes, including Toshizo Nemoto writing the scripts.

Katsumi Ono is back to direct the new season of the series at Aura Studio. Joining him are Toru Imanishi, who will design the characters, and Yoshihiro Nagamori, handling monster designs. Many of the original voice actors are returning, including Tomoaki Maeno as Arc, Ai Fairouz as Arianne, Nene Hieda as Ponta, Miyu Tomita as Chiyome, and Takuya Eguchi as Danka. The cast is also expanding with new additions like Toshihiko Seki as Villiers Fim, Kensho Ono as Sasuke, Kenji Akabane as Palurumo, Go Shinomiya as Baltord, Hitomi Ueda as Tsubone, and Junichi Suwabe as Thanatos.

What’s Special About Skeleton Knight in Another World?

Although it’s been four years since it originally aired, Skeleton Knight in Another World gained a dedicated following. While it might not be as popular as some of the biggest Isekai anime series – especially those with long-awaited returns – it’s still an enjoyable show. The story centers around an office worker who is reborn in a new world as a skeleton and starts a new life as a knight.

He’s found himself inside the video game he used to play, complete with all the gear and skills he remembered. The catch? He’s a skeleton and needs to keep it a secret, which leads to plenty of comical trouble.
