5 Members of Marvel’s Spider-Family Who Need To Appear in a Live-Action Movie

Spider-Man is incredibly popular right now. Because Peter Parker is part of Marvel Studios, he gets to team up with other famous heroes. For example, the current storyline will see Spider-Man working with both the Hulk and the Punisher, and there are plans for even more collaborations. With a character resembling Tony Stark joining the mix, Spider-Man is likely to play a part in future Marvel Cinematic Universe *Avengers* films. He should especially be watching the *Avengers: Secret Wars* project, as that’s where he first encountered the symbiote in the comics.

Spider-Man’s adventures with the Avengers are always exciting, but it’s time for Peter Parker to connect with heroes who understand what he’s going through. Here are five members of Marvel’s Spider-Family who deserve to be in a live-action film.

5) Kaine Parker

It seems villains often believe cloning Spider-Man will help them win. The Jackal, for example, kept creating clones because his first attempt, Kaine Parker, wasn’t what he expected. Kaine felt abandoned by both his creator and the Spider-Man he resembled, and this anger fueled a desire for revenge, causing him to lash out at others.

Kaine doesn’t remain a villain for long. He eventually changes his ways, becomes the Scarlet Spider, and teams up with the New Warriors. Because the movies haven’t touched on cloning yet, they could start with the original storyline.

4) Miles Morales

Miles Morales is quickly becoming a major star in animated movies, with two films already released and another one coming soon. The next movie will follow Miles as he attempts to escape a different universe where he’s known as the Prowler instead of Spider-Man. Although it might seem like everything about Miles’ story will be told by the end of *Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse*, there will still be more to explore.

As a huge fan, I truly believe Marvel has built Miles Morales up enough that a live-action movie can really explore his story in a fresh way, separate from what we’ve already seen in the *Spider-Verse* films. It feels like a perfect fit for the MCU, especially since they hinted at his existence way back in *Spider-Man: Homecoming*. It might be a little while before we see him on screen, but I’m completely confident Miles is definitely coming!

3) Mayday Parker

Look, as a Spider-Man fan, it really bothers me how his love life *always* seems to end in disaster in the movies! Whether it’s Mary Jane and Peter constantly struggling in the Sam Raimi films, the heartbreaking loss of Gwen Stacy in *The Amazing Spider-Man*, or even the MCU wiping Michelle Jones’ memory of him, it’s just…rough. Thankfully, the comics are there to offer some hope! There are storylines where Peter actually *gets* a happy ending with someone, and that’s what I choose to focus on.

In an alternate version of the Spider-Man story, Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson have a daughter named Mayday, who develops superpowers. Despite their efforts to keep her out of the superhero life, she starts fighting crime on her own. There’s speculation that actress Sadie Sink might play Mayday in the upcoming film *Brand New Day*, but those with inside knowledge haven’t confirmed it. Regardless of whether Sink is cast, many fans believe Mayday deserves a live-action appearance.

2) Ben Reilly

The second Spider-Man clone, Ben Reilly, is very different from the first. The Jackal tried to turn Reilly against his original, but his plan backfired. Instead, Reilly became a partner to Peter Parker, even temporarily becoming Spider-Man himself. As the Scarlet Spider, he’s a skilled hero who works to save the world.

I was really captivated by the version of Miles Morales’ friend, Reilly, in *Across the Spider-Verse* – Andy Samberg did a fantastic job voicing him! But honestly, while he’s great in the movie, the comic book version of the character is even more compelling. It makes me hopeful that if they ever bring Reilly to life in a live-action Spider-Man film, they can really do him justice. It seems like we might not see that happen until Peter Parker is nearing retirement, though.

1) Jessica Drew

The movie *Madame Web* includes a Spider-Woman character, though she’s not the most well-known version. Jessica Drew is a key figure in the Spider-Man universe, often teaming up with the Avengers and working for S.H.I.E.L.D. Because her stories aren’t typically connected to Peter Parker, filmmakers have a lot of creative freedom with her character.

The Avengers are currently in a bit of a transition period within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and they’re considering adding new heroes to the team. If Spider-Man decides he doesn’t want to rejoin, Spider-Woman would be a strong candidate to take his place. Plus, if things work out well, she could potentially star in her own movie someday.
