Although the Hulk is one of the strongest heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his portrayal hasn’t always been consistent. First appearing in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton, the role was later taken over by Mark Ruffalo in 2012’s The Avengers. Since then, the Hulk has become a key player in the MCU, serving as both one of the original Avengers and a brilliant scientist. Despite his immense power, the movies sometimes underutilize his full potential.
The Hulk has been part of some exciting action sequences in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the films haven’t fully explored everything that makes him so powerful. In the comics, his transformation through gamma radiation gives him a lot of unique abilities beyond just super strength, establishing him as one of Marvel’s most formidable characters. Until the MCU starts showcasing these powers, the on-screen Hulk won’t reach his full potential as seen in the source material.
5) Infinitely Scaling Strength

The MCU has sometimes portrayed Hulk as weaker than he should be, largely because it hasn’t fully utilized a core aspect of his power. In the comics, Hulk’s strength directly increases with his anger – the angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes. This means there’s technically no limit to how powerful he can be, but the MCU hasn’t really shown that side of his abilities.
4) Adaptational Mutation

It’s easy to forget, but the Hulk is actually among the most powerful super soldiers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the comics, a key part of his power is his ability to instantly change his body, making him incredibly adaptable. This allows the Hulk to survive in any environment, even on other planets. While the MCU showed a hint of this ability when the Hulk appeared in Thor: Ragnarok, it wasn’t fully explained or used, and it seems to have been overlooked since then.
3) Resistance to Telepathy

The Hulk has a key power in the comics – a natural resistance to mind control and telepathy – that the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn’t yet shown. This makes him incredibly difficult to control with psychic abilities, and he’s even been able to withstand attacks from some of the most powerful telepaths in Marvel. As the Multiverse Saga continues, this ability could become important for the MCU’s Hulk, but it hasn’t been established as one of his powers so far.
2) Rapid Regenerative Healing Factor

I’ve always been fascinated by characters who can heal quickly in the MCU, and with Deadpool and Wolverine now part of the franchise, it’s even more exciting. But it feels like everyone forgets about Hulk! He’s always been able to heal incredibly fast in the comics – I mean, we’re talking regenerating entire limbs and even putting himself back together after being completely destroyed! It’s such a powerful ability, and I’m a little disappointed we haven’t really seen it showcased in his MCU appearances. It’s a core part of his character in the comics, and I’d love to see that explored on screen.
1) Immortality

Everyone knows the Hulk is incredibly hard to kill, making him one of Marvel’s most resilient heroes. He’s practically immortal, being a living, green, and incredibly muscular expression of pure anger. While the comics, especially the Immortal Hulk series, have delved into this aspect of his character, the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to have overlooked it. This is a surprising omission considering how powerful and popular the Hulk is.
