Following his recent Oscar win for Sinners, Michael B. Jordan is quickly starting new projects. He’s set to star in a new Miami Vice movie with Austin Butler, directed by Joseph Kosinski. Jordan’s success as both an actor and a box office attraction means he can choose from many opportunities, and he’s now focusing on adapting the Battlefield video game series into a film. The movie will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, known for the last four Mission: Impossible movies. Details are still scarce, but studios are already competing to distribute the film.
According to The Wrap, five major movie studios – Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery, Sony, Amazon MGM Studios, and Universal – are currently competing to produce a film based on the Battlefield video game series. They’ve all made offers to acquire the rights from Jordan and McQuarrie.
