In Amazing Spider-Man issue #11, which marks the 975th installment of the series, our beloved neighborhood hero Spider-Man will embark on a journey into outer space. Known as Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Peter Parker usually keeps his superhero activities confined to Earth. However, with this new adventure, things are about to take an exciting turn!
Joining forces with another Spider-Man, these two web-slingers will share the spotlight in the comic. One of them will be exploring the cosmos while the other remains on Earth. A sneak peek at both characters has been revealed on the cover art by Pepe Larraz for Amazing Spider-Man #11. But the extended look provides more intriguing details regarding the space-faring Spidey’s suit and its potential link to the X-Men.
Marvel has shared a sneak peek at Amazing Spider-Man #11 by Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz, and John Romita Jr. The preview primarily concentrates on our cosmic Spider-Man, who is revealed to be sporting a brand new Technarachnid Suit. This golden attire seems to have a life of its own, mirroring the fluid motion typical of a symbiote. Interestingly, the “Techn” part of the suit’s name shares similarities with techno-organic, a concept that has been frequently referenced in Marvel’s X-Men universe. For instance, Cable was once infected with a techno-organic virus as an infant before being sent to the future, Warlock, a former New Mutant, belongs to the Technarch alien species, and the creators of the Technarch are the Phalanx, a recurring antagonist in X-Men’s current Krakoa era.
Marvel Reveals First Look at Space and Earth-Based Spider-Men
In the initial glimpse of issue #11 of The Amazing Spider-Man, we find Spider-Man engaged in combat with Xanto Starblood, high up within a spaceship. The scene is beautifully illustrated by Pepe Larraz, where we witness Spidey taking a blast shot, yet quickly countering and utilizing the Technarachnid suit’s remarkable powers to retaliate. Later, John Romita Jr. depicts an Earth-bound battle, showing Spider-Man delivering a powerful shoulder block onto a chimney on a rooftop, causing it to topple. To prevent any harm, he swiftly webs the chimney to keep it from falling.
An important point is that Earth’s version of Spider-Man sports his web-shooters on the outside of his suit. Additionally, there seems to be a hint of red around Spider-Man’s eyes, which might imply he’s feeling irritated or upset. This could potentially be due to an artistic choice in coloring, but it’s worth keeping in mind.
As a film enthusiast, I’m all about the gritty, Manhattan-rooted Spider-Man tales that make my heart race. But there’s something truly captivating when our friendly neighborhood hero finds himself out of his element. Well, how about we push that boundary to its extreme? Why settle for one when you can have… both? So here comes a yarn of Two Spideys, my friends!
In this saga, Peter Parker is wrestling with his inner demons following Hellgate’s chilling introduction. Regardless of the location, it seems that Spider-Man always carries a storm within him. This narrative arc is packed with explosive action, fresh faces, and formidable threats, but what truly sets it apart is the abundance of emotion as Peter and his loved ones struggle to pick up the pieces following a catastrophic event.
