Duchess Kate Middleton has been temporarily stepping back from her public responsibilities, except for this quiet appearance.
On June 25th, it was reported by Hello! Magazine that Prince William was joined by his spouse for a confidential meeting with Melinda French Gates at Windsor Castle. Notably, this was Kate’s first public outing following her absence from the Royal Ascot earlier in the month.
The report released last Thursday, June 26th, asserted that the court circular published daily, which outlines the royal family’s day-to-day activities, contained information from a recent meeting attended by William and Kate, both aged 43. According to the document, they were there on behalf of their Royal Foundation, an organization dedicated to various causes such as early childhood development and mental health.
It seems that the threesome held a private gathering, without any pictures being taken of the pair (consisting of an unspecified couple and French Gates, aged 60), according to reports from Us Weekly. They have contacted Kensington Palace in search of confirmation about this alleged event.
Recently, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has been maintaining a quiet public presence following her decision to skip the Royal Ascot on June 18. Initially planned to attend with Prince William, her name was unexpectedly omitted from the official list of daily procession participants. Instead, her mother, Carole Middleton, and sister-in-law Alizee Thevenet were present at the event.

Two days on, Kate issued a declaration concerning Children’s Hospice Week; it was her initial commentary following her sudden unavailability.
She stated then that no parent is ever prepared for news about their child having a severe health condition that may limit their lifespan. Regrettably, this is a situation many families nationwide find themselves in, feeling devastated, anxious about the future, and frequently extremely lonely. Having access to one of the 54 children’s hospices in the U.K. means they don’t have to confront that uncertain future on their own.
The position of Patron that Kate held for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice granted her a “great honor” by allowing her to witness firsthand the dedication of these institutions at work.
Enhancing joy with humor, entertainment, and playtime, while also offering empathy, comfort, companionship, and support, these hospices aid children and their families during life’s toughest moments, including loss. This Children’s Hospice Week, I invite you to appreciate the transformative work they do and express gratitude for the invaluable care they offer to children and families facing extremely difficult times.
Since announcing earlier this year that her cancer is in remission, Kate has been adopting a more relaxed pace, and it seems she plans to keep it up.
According to Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty, Kate might be returning, but she’s doing so thoughtfully, setting her own pace. Her focus has shifted, and she’s now focusing on what her body needs rather than catering to others.
